Cataclysm 10-day trial edition announced {WoW}

Dec 18th 2010 1:10AM Does anyone know if the WoW regular 10 day trial reflect the new environment? I want to check out the new cities and just poke around.

The Classifieds: More raiders than ever pushing through end-game content {WoW}

May 26th 2010 1:12PM Feebleminded, the skilled warrior tank, is in a guild called "Oven Baked Jewb Jewbs".

Not cool.

The Classifieds: One million gold in his pocket {WoW}

May 12th 2010 9:17PM It dropped and he "bid" 30K on it. The 30K was then split with the rest of the raid. It's how a GDKP works.

Interview: WowLens and a National Science Foundation grant help researchers mine player data {WoW}

May 11th 2010 11:56AM Someone needs to talk to these people about how they present themselves to the WoW community. They have little, if information on the website, with a few parts of the website not configured from the default installation. Plus, we have all heard, "Just download this binary and everything will be good" many of times, but that is why we have authenticator tokens. Plus. they don't have a Mac client, which is really annoying.

Apr 26th 2010 1:29PM Your Mirror Images pick up your Buffs but they will only shoot frost bolts.

A good trick it to pop Arcane Power and what ever other talents and trinkets you have and then Mirror Image. Combine this with a Water Element in PvP and you get instant death.

I'm The Monarch Of The Sea Lyrics
H.M.S Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan

SIR JOSEPH: I am the monarch of the sea,
The ruler of the Queen's Navee,
Whose praise Great Britain loudly chants.
COUSIN HEBE. And we are his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
REL. And we are his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
SIR JOSEPH. When at anchor here I ride,
My bosom swells with pride,
And I snap my fingers at a foeman's taunts;
COUSIN HEBE. And so do his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
ALL. And so do his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
SIR JOSEPH. But when the breezes blow,
I generally go below,
And seek the seclusion that a cabin grants;
COUSIN HEBE. And so do his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
ALL. And so do his sisters, and his cousins, and his aunts!
His sisters and his cousins, Whom he reckons up by dozens, And his aunts!

Jan 11th 2010 3:21PM People point to links that say that getting around two-factor is possible but these people are also not pointing out that undermining those attacks are just as easy.

If a hacker can grab your two-factor code in real time, then blizzard should lock one successful logged in WoW client to your account for at least one minute. That way, the hacker can not log into your account if you have successfully logged in. If you log out in the one minute period of time, you just have to wait a minute to log back in.
Hackers can't launch your WoW client without you noticing and they if they are locked out of accessing your account for one minute, then two-factor completely works.

The links also point to are for application neutral attacks. You can't log into WoW without Blizzard's WoW client, which they have just about total control over. Two-Factor attacks can work well on web browsers since any web browser can be used for the attack and a non-GUI browser can be used on the victims machine.

Breakfast Topic: The high cost of playing {WoW}

Dec 6th 2009 10:18AM The only thing that I gripe about with the paid services is they don't offer more of the server transfer services for free to help balance out some of the servers. I rolled my main on a Dallas, Tx server, when I live in San Diego, Ca and the closest servers are in Los Angeles, Ca. Moving would shave about 80ms off my ping time and I could go from a high pop to a lower pop server.

The Queue: Normal view {WoW}

Nov 23rd 2009 4:42PM The reason Blizzard is not representing Gay/Bi/Transgender characters in lore is that any company in their right mind stays out of that Bee's Nest.

WoW crosses a lot of borders and cultural lines and to keep themselves out of hot water in any of them, they default to the lowest common detonator on any charged subject.

Blizzard should not stop Gay/Bi/Transgendered players and guilds from playing, but they should never actively step into that realm. Just to much trouble for them.
