Oct 5th 2010 7:16PM Yeah, I'm not seeing where "this is so awesome!" is coming from, besides the fact that everyone is impatient to get his/her paws on a copy of the expansion.
Aug 16th 2010 4:08PM Exactly right, Thunderblade. The people downrating you must have a cheerful vision of what really happens in authoritarian regimes. The reason that China is still in Communist hands is that they know what to censor. Keep the people's minds off of themes of death and torture as much as you can because they know it could happen to them any day, any time, for any reason.
Aug 16th 2010 3:59PM My guess is that this has very little to do with ancestor veneration and very much with the millions of deaths the Chinese Communist Party has been responsible for since they took over. Skulls, bones, and gore are censored because the government wants everyone to forget what they did in the Great Leap Forward (and to keep images from that era and the famine that killed 20 million Chinese citizens under wraps).
Say what you will about American "censorship" when it comes to overt sexuality. Given the choice, I'll take that over a Communist regime that killed more of its own people in one year than the Christian Crusades and all Muslim holy wars did in their entire histories combined.
Jun 16th 2010 7:23PM My glyph maker has been given orders to undercut by 10g on every cancel/repost cycle.
I'm guessing people who are inspired by this article to try out glyph making for fun and profit and who play on my server will come away disappointed.
If they can locate any herbs, that is.
Jun 11th 2010 11:18AM "How this managed to slip past us, we'll never know."
I'm guessing it's because mmo-champion was down most of the day yesterday?
Feb 26th 2010 9:20PM Good call on the Pennsylvania reference, but Ohio is the armpit hellhole, not New Jersey.
Worst state by a large margin.
Aug 30th 2009 8:46PM "they felt more like pest control than adventure"
That is just a perfect description of leveling through vanilla content. Nice.
Of course, Outland also gives you a "kill 30 of these guys" about once per zone, probably for nostalgia's sake.
Aug 24th 2009 2:57PM On Heroic, I'd say it's a current-spec need, off-spec greed.
In reset-able regular? I tell the group I'm rolling need if I can use it, whether I'm healing or DPS.
Aug 14th 2009 11:22PM FINALLY, someone talking sense. All of you people saying, "This can't be true! Blizzard hasn't said anything!"
Well, guess what. Next week they will. There will be a trailer. There will be an announcement about the level cap. There will be a preview of which zones you'll be playing. There might even be playable instances at BlizzCon. Who knows. But when Blizzard announces something new they announce a LOT about it. Remember what they showed for SC2? There was a 20-minute gameplay demo right after they showed the trailer for crying out loud!
Sometimes when a big company wants to get people excited about their next development, they'll feed some info to the most credible fanboy in the world, who will then announce it as a leak and get people talking. The timing for this is EXACTLY right and I will bet you 50K gold that Blizz announces over 50% of what was said in that post at BlizzCon.
And here's hoping that the world even that opens this up after Icecrown is AMAZING.
