Patch 4.0.6 patch notes update for Jan. 14 {WoW}

Jan 15th 2011 1:36AM Significantly less than double with the hit to energy regen, and it's not a haste buff any more like it used to be, so it's useless against single targets. It already cooled down fast enough to make it easy to use in most fights against multiple mobs, too so it's not going to be much different except that rogues won't have to remember to keep turning it back on.

Dec 7th 2010 4:58PM I'd like to stop procrastinating and enter this now. That is one seriously fine GPU right there.

Dec 3rd 2010 1:31PM This is still mixing good and bad advice. Yes, being a savvy surfer is the best first line of defense, but it's still not immunity. You said to have a malware scanner (which is good advice), but think about this: if you need a malware scanner, it means you are vulnerable to picking up malware. This means, in turn, that you could pick up something recent enough to not be detected by your malware scanner, or to be compromised between picking up malware and the scanner running.

I'm a safe surfer - never gotten a virus or malware, never been hacked. I still use an antivirus scanner, malware scanner, and authenticator; just because it's never happened doesn't mean that it can't.

Kinect Dance Central preview, or how we learned to stop caring and love the groove (video) {Engadget}

Jun 15th 2010 1:10AM @Ish260 The advantage that rhythm games have is the ability o tolerate lag. There's not an on-screen avatar of yourself that I can see (unless that's it on the far right), and there is a pause in this game between your move ending and the 'FLAWLESS' showing up. So, even if the game 'sees' you as being behind the music, as long as it can anticipate it, it can still judge you correctly. It just hides the lag from you - similar to what music games are already doing to calibrate against audio lag.

Reader UI of the Week: Zerene's UI {WoW}

Mar 30th 2010 3:20PM Loving my Razer Naga since receiving it a week or so ago. I play a rogue, and it's been nothing but great to be able to run and access all (or at least 27) of my abilities at the same time. I'm still tweaking my UI, but the Naga add-on seems to be a pretty capable bar manager in its own right, and I'm getting my interface nicely decluttered thanks to it.

Top left buttons? Yeah, useless. I've got them bound to auto-run and dropping stealth, I think.

Petition asks for colorblind options in Modern Warfare 2 {Joystiq}

Dec 15th 2009 5:39PM Count me in the 'didn't even know there was a difference' camp when it comes to MW2 names. I'm pretty severely color-deficient (look up 'Protanopia' for the curious). I've always had trouble with friend/foe indicators, and back in the days of Planetside (Is that game still around?), I HAD to play on the red faction, so I knew to shoot at both blue and purple, which are identical to my eyes.

Don't even get me started on Puzzle Fighter or Bust-A-Move...

Oct 27th 2009 1:51PM One of the less fun music/rhythm games that I've played. It has its moments, but it's not really doing it for me. I'd pick it up for 80 bucks tops, with the hopes that it gets more fun, but meh. At least some of the music is really good.

Sep 27th 2009 6:57PM I make my own Rock moments. Well, plastic Rock, anyway. Singing Highway Star in front of a full house at PAX 2008 would be mine. Yep.
