Aug 4th 2009 11:19AM After the patch, with the same gear, you'll see your dodge drop and your parry rise. I expect this change was made to make parry more appealing, since nearly every warrior avoided parry like the plague and dodge has always been more effective. The reason for this situation was the slight bonus you gain from parry (the infamous parry-haste) that should result in a bit more threat. I suppose this sligth bonus is also the reason parry still diminishes faster than dodge.
So, before the patch dodge was way better than parry on a per-point basis, after the patch they will be nearly equal. The effect is that gear with parry rating will be overall better.
Feb 7th 2009 6:03PM These tests may seem extreme to you, but in guilds that are really going for server or world first, that may be something else. Remember, those guild have been farming content since week one and are now decked out in (nearly) full best-in-slot gear. It is also highly probable that their skill and knowledge level are far ahead of those that you're used to. You say that you haven't cleared Sartharion with more than one Drake up yet. Although I don't doubt your competence as a raider, you're not "done" with the current content. You're not in a "farm period" if you still have stuff to clear. For those that are, the tests listed may very well be hard but possible and as such a solid indicator of skill and behaving under pressure.
