May 14th 2010 5:06PM I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of that when I read 'power level'.....
May 6th 2010 8:19AM I very much doubt that's a replacement for the paladin charger. It looks like a new model for the epic elekk mount to me (in fact that's what the picture is called...). At least I really hope it is because then I can put away my mammoth and have a cool looking mount that doesn't look like it's about to collapse under the weight of my male draenei, AND can ride under the arches in SW without getting stuck!
Apr 15th 2010 12:25PM If you die and for any reason the game cannot work out which graveyard to send you to (usually due to an error of some description), it automatically sends you to the westfall graveyard which is the 'default graveyard'. Most likely the error occurred due to you being disconnected at just the wrong instant.
If you'd checked the map for your corpse position you may well have seen the marker in the alterac mountains. This is because the game moves your 'physical' body to the 0, 0, 0 coordinates (which is actually quite a way beneath the terrain in the mountains) if it is unsure where you are supposed to be. There is a boat hovering in the void at that location to 'catch' unwary players who might end up there whilst still alive, giving them the chance to hearth out rather than plummeting endlessly and having to ticket a GM to fix it.
If you remember the crazy death grip bug that occurred about a year or so ago, some players were able to access the boat at 0, 0, 0 through being death gripped by a DK whilst standing on the boat in booty bay. The bug has since been fixed but there are some pretty trippy videos of it on youtube if you search for 'wow death grip bug'.

"THERE... ARE..... FOUR.... LIGHTS!"
Seriously though, I played DDO for a short while when it first came out, then quit and moved on to greener pastures. The problem at the time was that level 12 was the highest you could get, there was only one raid (some kind of dragon), no pvp and it was pretty easy to get the best gear. The actual gameplay was pretty enjoyable but it just didn't have the longevity to keep me interested.
I'm sure it's very different now, but back then, most grinding was done in various instances, and although grouping was a lot of fun and the instances were all pretty well made, you generally had to run the same one a lot of times before you levelled up enough to move on. I particularly remember doing some kind of catacombs (think that was what it was called) full of undead over and over and over. I seem to remember trading was pretty weird too, you could only vendor your items to an NPC, who then resold them to players. There was no AH or other way of trading.
Mar 29th 2010 10:30AM EQ is still going, and so is Ultima Online, which is the grandaddy of MMORPG's and was released 13 years ago.
To put things into context, EQ peaked at about 430,000 subscribers, whilst Ultima Online had about 250,000 in it's prime. And both of these games have lasted around a decade so far.
In contrast to that, WoW has only been around for 5 years and has around about 13 million subscribers at the moment. That's 50 times more than Ultima Online at it's peak!
It's hard to imagine Blizzard pulling the plug on such a commercially successful and iconic game anytime in the near future.
Mar 24th 2010 1:54PM ah dammit..... fell into the old bracket trap there.....
It should say 'Healed by Kitties' would make an awesome guild name.
Mar 24th 2010 1:53PM @Pineapples
would be an awesome guild name :S
Mar 21st 2010 11:03AM It's from Old Hillsbrad I believe.
Mar 21st 2010 10:22AM Yes! awesome idea, I'd go with holy shock though since I'd rather style myself as a paladin than a priest.
Seriously though, not only can you miraculously heal anyone that's been injured (including yourself) but also smite enemies with holy power. It's like a 2-for-1 ability.
Mar 16th 2010 3:27PM Varian Wrynn has detachable blades that he can combine to form one huge sword?!
Now all he needs is spiky blonde hair and a Mekgineer's Chopper and he's good to go!
