Addon Spotlight: Gathering and trade skill helpers {WoW}

May 30th 2010 3:16PM I used to be a die-hard Fubar user, until support started to wane. I've gone over to LDB ("Broker"), and won't look back, even if Fubar pulls a phoenix.

For the bar itself, I run Bazooka. I've also run ChocolateBar; both work well.

Most of my addons that were Fubar now have direct LDB replacements; some even support both Fubar and Broker directly.

@Abraxxis: Those issues are a fault of the plugin, not Broker. The only time I've seen things like that is with Fubar plugins running thru F2B. And with Bazooka, I have no problems putting my plugins where I want them.

My LDB system has more info on it than my old Fubar did, but it still looks cleaner.

Choose My Adventure: Death by Bieber {WoW}

May 25th 2010 12:21PM Video: Ouch. Just ouch. Made me want to go and jump off Teldrassil myself.

I found the perfect place back in vanilla, when I was leveling my nelf huntard, who's now at the ripe old age of 63. Fall off, hit a branch, die. Run around, jump off same branch, rez while falling past your corpse, die. Repeat 5-6 times. (Almost made me quit WoW; that was before I found out about spirit rezzing.)

Many deaths for the price of one!

Reminder: It came from the Blog's running of the orphans is today {WoW}

May 2nd 2010 1:54PM Finally on a day that I'm not working... I plan on running it with my two mages, Xapi and Zapi.

Choose My Adventure: Who, when and where {WoW}

Mar 30th 2010 4:17AM Hmm.. I was told that you could do the other old-world-races' 1-5 zones. Though I'm sure I tried taking my Tauren shaman over to Deathknell, and couldn't do anything.

Spiritual Guidance: Benediction {WoW}

Mar 30th 2010 4:13AM I have Benediction/Anathema on both my priests. On my first, I did it at 70 during TBC, and it wasn't all that bad. At 80, it was a LOT harder.

"Balance" was all about triage and downranking to conserve mana. With downranking gone since 3.0, it's a lot harder to do without going OOM.

Choose My Adventure: Who, when and where {WoW}

Mar 30th 2010 3:49AM Just as an FYI, you'll have to do the level 1-5 quests (the "nursery") in your race's starting area. So, as an undead, you'll have to kill skellies and spiders around Deathknell before heading over to the lush green hills of Mulgore.

That goes for all races; there are no special restrictions regarding the blood elf starting area. You can start running Eversong at level 4 (5-6 is better) with the Outrunner quest on the bridge from Sunstrider Isle. That's exactly what I'm doing with my Undead mage. (Dual boxing with a BE mage.)

Breakfast Topic: This is my quest {WoW}

Feb 25th 2010 2:05AM The Tower of Althalaxx... In the impending Cataclysm, may it get burned, knocked down by a tidal wave, washed out to sea, ground to dust, sucked into the Maelstrom, and used to fuel the hottest fires in the deepest pit of Hell. Or, maybe washed intact into the ocean and used as the location for the raid introduced in patch 4.2... I haven't decided.

I wonder what the Devs were thinking when they came up with that chain. "Hmm.. Let's have a chain that happens in the low end of a 10-20 area. We'll rate it at 18, but let the level 13s pick it up anyway. We'll make them run the entire length of the zone, as the main quest giver is in the NEXT ZONE. And let's ramp up the difficulty another THIRTEEN LEVELS before it's done. Yes, let's have level 13s try to do a level 31 quest! And oh yes, the corpse run is a good 5-10 minutes! That's great!"

Breakfast Topic: Did you accomplish your Love is in the Air goals? {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2010 8:28PM Having parked my priests for the remainder of Wrath, I concentrated on my druid, my new main. She had the title in about a week (started from scratch), and got the very last LiitA achievement (the black dress) five minutes before the holiday NPCs despawned.

I tanked the new bosses "blind" the first day; that was the high point of the holiday. After that, I didn't bother running them unless a friend or guildie needed a tank or healer.

Most people I know quit running them after a few days, except to gear up some alts. I saw two slimes drop, and I heard a rumor that someone on Feathermoon got a rocket. Given the stupidly low drop rate on the rocket, a lot of people (including myself) came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the time. Giveaway: World of Warcraft Programming, 2nd Ed {WoW}

Feb 10th 2010 5:50PM I can't remember the last time I /rolled on gear and got over a 20. Maybe I'll get lucky this time... :)

15 Minutes of Fame: Mixlering it up in world PvP {WoW}

Dec 19th 2009 5:49AM Oh, is Guildwatch still around? I didn't see much of them tonight when we took out the four Alliance leaders in under 90 minutes.

Heck, /horde sees a lot more action...
