Apr 4th 2012 2:54PM This is WoW (and themepark MMOs) all over. Rift was doing well for awhile with the world pvp dailies, but it only lasted so long. If you want world pvp in the long run, you're gonna need a sandbox/park game.
Apr 2nd 2012 1:28PM It's ALL about AC. I've heard good things about Ultima, but I usually find that I get along best with AC vets, followed by UO vets, and... yeah, EQ vets are a mixed bag since their game style (raiding) is why we're in our current MMO situation ;P
Mar 29th 2012 6:43PM Another article that's hard to argue.
One thing I want to add is that not only is there a difference in age for those who start guilds, but a difference in personality. The people who's helped build the current guild I'm in aren't always with us long term. They may join for a few months to a year, but tend to burn out and kinda vanish, while the long term folks may not always have something new to add, but will support new ideas and help carry them out.
Mar 27th 2012 4:08PM Goons are goons. I don't buy it, sorry.

It's less about a guilt trip than one human attempting to push another off the deep end- it happens. Those folks probably aren't cut out for the world, but being the catalyst for emo-suicide's probably where the "evil" line starts (and I almost always disagree with politicians who use that word).
Mar 26th 2012 2:05PM This is what happens when people care more about the game than the community. People who follow Mittens are the reason he and his actions pop up. If people treated him like a social pariah, took a stand against lamers, and stopped interacting with him, we wouldn't see posts like this.
Mar 22nd 2012 8:11PM I rarely completely agree with guild related posts, but this one's 100% true in my experience.
Mar 21st 2012 1:14PM My first mentor was my AC1 patron, Lysis (who eventually became my first boss, and trust me, knowing each other in-game probably made it so I had MORE work to do than an average employee ;P ). She mainly taught me social etiquette since I was an angry 13 year old at the time ;P Apparently telling someone to GTFO was rude and if I died, that person wouldn't help me get my items back ;P
Years later, when my patron was busy with RL, I mentored her, mainly in pvp. I remember trying to teach her about how we needed to work as a team and pull our own weight or else the group as a whole suffered. She was usually a bit stressed out by this, but one time, it got real bad and she completely froze. We told her to just run and that we'd hold them off, and while we killed a few of them, the whole group except for her died, leaving 2 guys left. Sadly, neither of them could heal themselves or had dealt with her in "angry healer mode," and she ended up killing both of them ;P She's been killer ever since =P

THIS! These tools assume that people only play for raids and shit. I join guilds to find people I like- I've finished raids, hit the "pvp level cap," gotten servers firsts, etc, a million times it seems, but few guilds have lasting power when that's all you look for in a guild. Let us search for relevant terms, give more options, let us see a calendar or something, etc
Mar 20th 2012 9:16PM It came out a few months ago.
