Jul 14th 2009 12:52PM Wow, a lot of haters on the music.
Anyway, from a movie critic standpoint, i'd have to say this is one of the best i've seen. At first i was thinking i would only be commenting on above average choreography in a story-less video. But the story line was very well done, and very well wrapped up. I give it 2 thumbs up! keep up the good work.
And as far as the music. Come on people really? You'll hate on Linkin park to the point it ruins the whole video for you? As if there have been more than 2 or 3 new bands since 2000 that are equally talented? (or even old bands new music for that matter)
Mar 25th 2009 12:35PM Ways to specifically ruin PVP:
Step 1 - Make easily attainable gear much better than the pvp gear available to grind for the average, or even skilled, BGer.
Step 2 - TAKE ALL EMPHASIS WAY FROM ACTUALLY WINNING A BATTLEGROUND! When marks were removed as a requirement for the above mentioned shitty gear available, it was the last nail in the coffin. Now all BGs are is big farmfests. I did not spend time BGing in every bracket (lots of time) learning the specific strategies and tactics of each battleground, to get to endgame, and have 9/10 teams i get placed with sitting around farming kills.
Ways to ruin both pvp and pve:
Step 1. Give all classes everything.
What ever happened to the system of rolling a class because you liked, or felt that that classes benefits justified NOT having the benefits of another class. You choose what you want, and SACRIFICE the abilities of the others. (Can anyone say CC??"
Mar 25th 2009 12:08PM ANNNNND....
Yet another video that is "No longer available" 3 minutes after the post. Is it just me? Is it youtube?
Mar 20th 2009 2:00PM SERIOUS QUESTION FOR WOWINSIDER:
Why does every single video you link posted on youtube become "no longer available" in as little as an hour after the article posts? please fix or tell posters to upload their stuff at a better hosting website.
Mar 11th 2009 7:28PM lol yes, i didn't mean to be immature in my response as well. or maybe i did =P i will refrain the in future
Mar 10th 2009 1:21PM Dear Andorian,
I aapologize that my informal use of "u" insted of "you" in an internet comment, has offended you so. I apologize that it detracted from the overall message i was pointing out. And i apologize that you really think that something so petty dictates someone's level of intelligence, or judging from your comment, their right to voice a point.
But, supposing that belief to be true, i must ask you, Andorian, does grammar count as well as spelling?
"In Azeroth, nobody own Sholazar Basin, so there is no way to stop anyone with the trade skill from mining all the Titanium"
If your excuse is that you simply forgot the "s" after "own", that still doesn't explain the lack of the word "of" in the segment "mining all the Titanium".
Moral of the Story: Please don't cry about such petty things. Especially since your following point was very valid. It sends mixed messages.
Mar 10th 2009 1:06PM David,
I guess I understand the overall point, now. I probably had it cross my mind when reading, even. The only thing that threw me off, i guess, is that IMO there isn't really anything to be fixed about the WoW mining system. I wasn't quite sure what was so wrong with it that the entire system must be re-evaluated. So for that, i apologize for being so zealous is my comment.
I will say however, that yes, i do have a attachment to capitalism, seeing as how it is the system that has made our country successful for 200 years. Seeing as how WoW, and probably blizzard in general, would more than likely not exsist without it. That you would not be writing these articles, because this website would not exsist without the advertisment space used in it. But i guess my main point is that most people, talk about economic systems as the system only, forgetting the one major variable, and can eventually end up causeing ANY system to collapse, some more likely than others. Human Nature. Human nature is what drives all of the variables in economies. This is why you're idea of waiting at nodes, and offering it to those around you, would not work, or pay off.
While an utopian society is what everyone dreams of, the real (or fake) world just doesn't work that way. And, although kind, people doing this would soon find themselves being taken advantage of, and reaping only the reward of charitable feelings, if that. Thats great, if you've got the time for it. But even IF there were more kind people out there farming, the other large variable is the fact that the game is based on two warring factions. With separate economies. While the smart person would realize that for every node mined by the opposite faction, that means less ore in the AH for theirs, thus higher prices, i highly doubt it would cross their minds in the long run.
As much as i like the ideas of other non-capitalist systems, IMO, they rely too much on trusting human nature. More often than not the human nature of very few people. Capitalism is based more on darwinistic principals, such as survival of the fittest, which are the systems that work in nature. So that is why "i have an attachment" to capitalism.
Deathomen - Learning History = Learning Human Nature = Learning the Future
Mar 9th 2009 1:09PM Dear Author,
LOL I cannot beleive that u actually said "politics? what politics?!" That was hilarious. First of all, in the first 3rd of the entire article is a fairly blatant attack on capitalism. You act like the people who buy all these ores at low prices, 1. Were born wealthy, with thousands of thousands of gold upon character creation. Perhaps they worked their asses off, and/or took the time and investment to figure out a good system of buy/sell. And 2. U act like those people SET the prices themselves. Actually, the prices drop, when there are too many miners that flood the market with ore. You should be THANKING these eeevil capitalists for buying up as much as they do as to not have the market be more flooded than it already is. (U know, like in the gold rush, as mentioned in previous comment, where inflation [too much money, too few goods] was completely out of control.)
Also, i'm having trouble gathering what your whole point was with this article besides attacking capitalism and trying to make it look like slavery. In fact most (not all of course) of the things you were saying were neither accurate depictions in real life OR the game. You make it sound like in the game, after u mine, u have to go pay to take a shower and wash all that dirt off, much like paying to repair. You make it sound like some epic undertaking.
The only guess i could make as to your point, was that there needs to be a system to control the amount of goods on the market and keep the prices high, like the diamond cartels. lol wow, "good idea" lets make cartel-like rules, and have even more control over people's gameplay than there is now.
Whether you like it or not (or realized) this entire article dripped with politics, and frankly i found it disgusting. Anyone who's studied journalism knows that you start with the most significant paragraphs and work down into least, because people often dont read the whole thing. And the paragraphs you started with, and really all that was visibly on the home page, was your attack on capitalism. And as far as the point of the article, i'll bring up another rule in journalism: Assume your reader is of an 8th grade reading level. I am of a much higher reading level than that, and i couldn't even figure out what u were getting at.
Mar 5th 2009 2:19PM Spread things out more, eh? Hmmm, well i dont know how it is in other battlegroups, but that brings back nightmarish thoughts of current AB.... All objective-based pvp will be broken until blizzard adjusts (i suggest nuking) the HK incentive.
Now as far as WG, I would say uneven populations is a much bigger issue than some lag, for the people who are on the ass-end of it. Soulution? Rework Tenacity, and this time, HIRE A MATHEMATICIAN to help! Make it ratio based. This way, a team won't end up having enough people to not get any tenacity at all, and still be outnumbered 2 or 3-1. Do some serious testing too.
Mar 3rd 2009 7:42PM lol i love hearing shit like this.....
people should really try something (like crack, or other hard drugs) before using it in a comparison.
