Arcane Brilliance: Professions for Cataclysm mages {WoW}

Jan 8th 2011 10:52PM I'm not so sure getting intellect rather than spell power is a good thing for arcane mages. When lightweave procs we are getting a damage boost from the extra int, but we are also losing damage due to being at a lower mana percentage. I haven't done the math but it is possible that it would be more useful to receive spell power.

Jan 3rd 2011 4:20PM Exactly. Also different groups have different methods of dealing with an encounter. I was kicked from a group today because the tank said "I was a bad mage who didn't know the fight" when I was following the advice from a video. I love it when the someone explains the encounter before the fight because I may have only done it once and don't quite have everything down. It only takes a few seconds to explain things, much better than running back and paying the repair bill.

I've been running heroics on my mage and mana is not really a problem. I'm in arcane spec, which is the one that really depends on mana, and there are no issues when I use mage armor. As belt stated in an Arcane brilliance post arcane mages have two phases: a burn down phase and a recovery phase. First, you go all out and use arc blast many times in a row until you're almost oom, then use evocation to recover then you while in the recovery phase you only use arcane blast a few times so the mana cost doesn't get too high. You also have mana pots/mana gems if you need more mana. We don't have much a mana problem
