Dec 25th 2009 6:32PM merry christmas!!
Aug 10th 2009 4:10PM leveling from 1-90 is going to be fun just because you want a new race.
Aug 9th 2009 9:46PM with healing wave, and lesser healing wave being effectively the same cast time; i found myself using healing wave a lot more. this led me going oom fairly quickly. during the first boss of the new 10man i was going down to like 15% mana before the worms came out (we didnt have replenishment, and i mana tided).
the buffs to chain heal are nice, and even with the buff to healing wave, i still dont feel like i'm healing for enough compared to how hard tanks were getting hit. the 2nd jump of chain heal isnt enough to heal through the bleed debuff on the first boss so i was just rotating between the two tanks, trying to conserve mana, and then playing catch up with healing waves. i wasnt having fun.
i just simply do not enjoy healing on a shaman anymore.
Jul 27th 2009 4:53PM i personally think that the separate hard mode / normal mode instances are a bad idea.
it's going to get people burnt out on content.
night #1: okay guys lets do normal mode 25
night #2: okay guys lets do hard mode 25
night #3: okay guys lets do normal mode 10
night #4: okay guys lets do hard mode 10
then you get on your alts and do it all over again. then imagine this for 2 months. you're going to be doing the same instance probably 4+ times a week. can you imagine doing naxx 4+ times a week? yeah it's a bad idea imo.
Jul 19th 2009 8:36PM "you have healers clicking unit frames like crazy (since only a clicker would be such a gross over-healer)"
can you explain what you mean by this?
Jul 19th 2009 8:28PM Here's the thing, it depends which class you're talking about.
If you're talking about a pally, they dont really have a choice if they want to over heal or not. if your tank gets hit for 9k, do you flash of light twice and do zero over healing, or do you holy light once and over heal for 2-3k? you really dont have a choice, because by the time your flash of light twice, you're tank has more than likely got hit again and he'll be down another 9k. so if you're FoL it's going to be a game of catchup and possibly ending with your tank dying.
other classes like druids or shamans, should have fairly low over healing, just based on the types of healing they're doing, and the effectiveness of smart heals (Chain Heal + AA procs, Wildgrowth).
i've never healed on a priest so i wont comment.
But i think to make blind statements about overhealing is a horrible outlook to have on raid healing. You have to look at when overhealing is happening, from who, how much, how often and why.
Jun 25th 2009 2:35PM it was hard. it's still "hard". the fight was nearly impossible without a completely perfect raid comp for 10 man.
and by perfect raid comp i mean bringing priests and druids to heal.
Jun 21st 2009 4:43AM nobody ever used to complain about Healing Wave / Way, at 70 because you could just downrank to 1 or 2 and stack it up before a fight. or at least keep the application up with a lower rank during a lull in the fight.
i think they finally figured out that nobody is casting healing wave, because you have to cast it twice for the heal to be any good. thus wasting your first 1k mana doing like a 7k heal.
i will not miss this talent whatsoever.
Jun 17th 2009 2:51PM you cant drop all 4 right now because it's not in the game.
Addons like Totem Caddy, "already do this for you"
with totem timers you have to press 4 buttons, but with totem caddy you only press one.
i dont use totem caddy anymore, but it's pretty awesome.
Jun 17th 2009 2:33PM this change is whatever. every raiding shaman got over this setback a long time ago.
this change doesn't address the sub-par nature of current buffs the totems gives.
you set your four up before the fight, and if one happens to be important to you during the fight you'll find time to work into dropping that one.
while it's nice in theory there really isnt much "real raid" application for this.
