The Queue: Monster {WoW}

Dec 20th 2010 1:32PM Theres also gems and enchants. It's probably their underhanded way of making you use these things instead of saying "oh those are useless", guess he's really saying "look, they're useful now"

The Queue: Monster {WoW}

Dec 20th 2010 1:29PM "I was shy of 329 for my first heroic, and it drove me crazy trying to find an easy drop to bring up my average."

Right, but that's just for the sake of the LFG/Random queuing. Unless they've changed something, You and your friends didn't NEED to do random queues to get into Heroics if there was 5 of you and you just ran to the instance door, threw it into heroic and entered. If you're a dps they could have carried you a little if you were only a few points shy, it only really matters if your a Tank or a Healer and you go oom or die quickly.

I'm not saying everyone skip normals completely and go do heroics this way but its an alternative, if you have a patient group, to needing to scramble for something as small as a few more ilvls.

The Light and How to Swing It: Cataclysm 101 for protection paladins {WoW}

Dec 16th 2010 11:55AM umm... is it just me or did the "what is the Protection Spec?" question not at all get answered with a spec at all? It was just a bunch of stuff about instant spells and how they function for them.. that's not really an answer for that question. Instead of answering the question at all in the next section we're told to look elsewhere for stuff on the spec...

How does that make this a 101 then? Your not giving us any information we couldn't get just playing the class for at least 80 levels let alone the fact that your not giving us very much information about Protection what-so-ever. Your not really even giving us much information about the stats. "That's just the way things go" instead of telling us why isn't very well stated. You guys aren't punishing a little kid here, "because we said so" doesn't work if the whole point to this is to answer peoples questions.

I'm sorry but this is the worst new 101 I've seen so far. But way to distract us with the Image, that was probably a great move.

Breakfast Topic: The changing face of raid group sizes {WoW}

Dec 16th 2010 10:13AM Honestly 10mans feel a bit more epic to me. 10 people instead of a legion of people fighting things bigger then them has a much more dire feel to it for me.

I don't miss 40mans at all. I don't miss waiting for 2 hours to get 40 people together. I don't miss waiting for 40 people to get back to the instance when we'd wipe -and I really don't miss those people who wouldn't get back and would only wait for the rez. I don't miss spending 3 hours on trash alone. I don't miss losing out on loot because 6 or more other people wanted it too. I don't know, I don't miss anything about it at all.

As for the "why can't the instances just scale?" do you even know how impossible it'd be for them to code that let alone balance that? Its easier to make the individual scale then it is to make the instance do it.

Reader UI of the Week: Quantus' UI {WoW}

Dec 14th 2010 3:18PM I'm sorry but it still just looks like Spartan to me. I get its changed and moved and flopped around. Granted its cleaner and it looks like everything seems to fit well but it still looks like way to much filler image at the bottom just taking up space.

The long list of addon's is daunting as well. I can't help but think that this UI is a memory hog. Personally I'm using Elv's UI and it covers pretty much everything this UI does in one package with a much smaller memory imprint (I never go over 9mb) and all I've really had to add was omen and recount.

Around Azeroth: Hail to the queen {WoW}

Dec 14th 2010 10:41AM I'm sorry but since when does the name Varian Wrynn ever belong in the same sentence as "pomp and ceremony". He's probably the least official leader in the Alliance despite being considered the leader amongst leaders, I'm sure if he was really going to the grave with his son, he'd just go.

The Queue: Late is better than never {WoW}

Dec 10th 2010 12:07PM "A lot of the zone was streamlined like that. It was unfortunate but necessary. Vashj'ir was huge."

A lot of the zone also seemed to be broken in the process.. Just saying.

The Queue: Make a note {WoW}

Dec 10th 2010 11:55AM "Blizzard expected it to be hit pretty fast, especially compared to previous expansions."

Ummm.. if memory serves sometime between when Cata was announced and May of this year this site said Blizzard wanted to make leveling go a lot more slower in these 5 levels then from the 60-70 and 70-80 experience, as to make it seem like a much more epic experience that couldn't be blown through in even a week -which to be fair, they've said about getting to 70 and getting to 80 in the past.

So yeah, this is either a case of speculation back then fed to us as a truth, Blizzard changed their mind and the writers of this site is acting like it was the plan all along or Blizzard is lying to the press and the press is running with it till further notice. But any way we go about it we were fed false info and its being glossed over.

Countdown to Cataclysm: Profession updates and changes {WoW}

Dec 7th 2010 2:05PM On my server fish were one of the biggest money makers throughout WotLK, that'll probably change but honestly I'll keep fishing and let all the haters hate.

Breakfast Topic: Elementals vs. Zombies -- which event was better? {WoW}

Dec 7th 2010 1:43PM Personally I wish there was a third, middle ground, option. I liked the fact that this one had bosses to run but hated that they were on an awkward timer that you could miss if you weren't keeping tabs on it. I hated the way the zombie infestation was implemented and carried out but the feel of the story was much better then the elemental invasion.

Basically I liked elements from both but really didn't like either too much.
