Officers' Quarters: How to replace an absentee guild leader {WoW}

Apr 12th 2011 9:52AM Unfortunately, the absent Guild Leader also has to be willing to hand over the guild.

I had a guild back in BC where the GL stopped showing up because "RL had gotten busier." We were a casual raiding guild and his departure left deep cuts: We were short on healers and he was a lead heal, only he could kick, invite, promote and demote, this was back before guild banks were implemented and so our "Guild Bank" was a character on his account.

We begged him to had over leadership to someone, but he was adamant about keeping the title. He told us that we could tell his playing RL friend if we needed someone kicked, etc, and he'd log on (sooner or later) and take care of it (didn't tend to happen). He'd log on for 15-ish minutes once a month, purely so we couldn't take advantage of the 30day thing.

It ended up being a huge morale blow to the guild, and people dropped like flies. The officers made a plan to create a new guild, but by then so many people had left and they were still having arguments about implementing certain rules that they ended up encouraging guildies to look to other guilds.

Officers' Quarters: Dual spec, double loot? {WoW}

Feb 16th 2009 2:44PM In my guild, everyone has a raid spec. That is their normal spec, and -normally- my raid leaders never ask someone to respec to something that's not their normal raid spec.

We use a dkp system in which items cost a flat amount of dkp and you earn dkp based on items looted, with extra points given for being on time to raid.

Raid specs get priority on gear that drops. For example, if tank gear drops all of the tanks bid on it. The tank with the highest dkp gets it. If no tanks need it, it goes up for offspec /rolls.

In our guild, offspec loot doesn't cost dkp. The reasoning is that we try not to ask people to respec. But there comes a time when we might need to, and we want the respeccing person to have the correct gear for it and not be punished (by spending extra dkp).

I don't see this changing when the Dual Specs come.
