Mar 11th 2010 7:07PM Especially since you say in the article, "I actually gave my discipline priest specific instructions... shield players under the effect of Pact of the Darkfallen." Holy priests putting shields on players taking burst damage make Disc priests cry!
Mar 2nd 2010 11:05PM Disappointing to see a set bonus changed so long after release, after people have already spent their emblems, and disappointing to see a potentially interesting mechanic changed to a flat 5% bonus.
But very nice to see a very clumsy set bonus changed to a solid one!
Jan 31st 2010 11:33PM I agree, the new Spiritual Guidance articles have been excellent.
Jan 25th 2010 9:38AM Spirit is terrible for Disc Priests. Sure it's regen just like int or mp5, but regen is only worth anything if you are running out of mana. And between Grace and Rapture, in my experience that rarely happens. I always prefer crit and then haste to spirit, and I still have mana coming out my ears. This is with only 5 pieces of gear with any spirit, for a total of ~575 spirit buffed.
Dec 8th 2009 4:02PM It wouldn't surprise me if it's a glitch, it wouldn't be the first (or second) time there was a glitch with the mail system upon a new patch's delivery...
Hopefully it's not a glitch that requires more maintenance though!
Dec 7th 2009 10:53AM Legendaries are a fun idea but there is no good way to make them truly rare without using a stupid flawed system. All the prior inane implementations show this.
The "collect 40 shards" schtick is supposed to keep legendaries rare but reward dedicated people. However as we all know it rewards people with good attendance or who are *lucky* with drops, and it punishes guilds with bad luck. In my guild we have had 7 people with fragments of val'anyr. One has since quit the game and two have left the guild. How many guilds are in the same boat?
The legendaries that have just been drops avoid this problem, but make it totally luck-based, and invite ridiculous loot drama.
We'll see how the Shadowmourne implemention goes; maybe Blizzard can do this in a way that isn't soul-crushing and doesn't punish unlucky guilds/players. And then, hey, maybe that can make a caster or tank legendary that doesn't involve a ridiculous grind.
Aug 11th 2009 10:57AM Thanks Frank for the suggestion. I wrote IronChef primarily for the bonus from the Chef's Hat, plus a little flair. If I can find a way to let you add items to your cooking outfit, I'll do it. ;)
Jul 21st 2009 6:31PM Both Holy and Disc can handle Mimiron. PS will guarantee a tank will survive plasma blast, and GS will basically do so also as long as people are healing the tank the whole time. For phase 2, Disc basically rotates between shielding a healer, then PoH-ing a party using borrowed time. Holy will use CoH as well as PoH's which are sped up by Serendipity. Glyph of PoH, and the talent Healing Focus, are valuable for both specs, and both specs can contribute a lot of healing/mitigation in this phase.
