Nov 20th 2010 9:32PM I find the comments about druids 'ab'using travelform and moonfire a little out of place, unless it is meant with regards to griefing. I used those when I got my turkinator achievement last year, though, I certainly had no competition at the time. The extra speed bought me a few extra seconds if I had problems locating one, plus I can't stand running at normal speed and mounting takes too long between short kills. One could argue hunters shouldn't use track beast (assuming turkeys would show up) and/or no one should use an instant cast spell/attack. Blizz gave druids spells and they should use them. In this case those abilities happen to be very helpful.
Now if they are griefing others, that is a whole other story entirely...
Nov 17th 2010 5:17PM Anyone else getting a swimming effect that seems to randomly kick in and not go away. It's been happening for weeks on my rogue alt only. Once it starts it won't seem to go away on its own.
Nov 11th 2010 6:54PM The trick to making the expansion include all previous content is you are essentially giving more to the new player for the same price as you are to you loyal current customers. When Cata goes live, I'd feel a little wronged if a brand new player paid the same price as me and suddenly had the entire game. For whatever reason, if they paid some marginal price for all the previous content, say $20, then it doesn't bother me. Or give me a free month that the brand new players don't get at least. That sentiment only lasts partway through the expansion and then I don't really care either way. I do think the soon to be setup of installing and upgrading 3 times seems a bit bulky to a new player.
Nov 11th 2010 6:37PM Forreststump, I think you missed his and others point. Everyone knows you pay the $15.00 to use your account which allows you to play. I believe he meant he does not want to pay microtransactions for content specifically. I also would be annoyed, even if I knew I'd save a little money in the long run. I like a fairly seamless game experience with a predictable fee that I'm willing to pay. I don't want to worry about whether I want to pay extra to visit the latest dungeon, get the next level of gear, etc. Not everyone feels this way, but I and others like me happen to feel that way. $15.00 a month is by far the cheapest bad habit that I have.
Nov 8th 2010 6:12PM Squig, by killing off the AH, repeatedly, didn't you also eliminate the buyers of said stacks of Netherweave? I do recall giving up on the AH when it was at its worst.
Nov 6th 2010 8:55AM I agree on some sort of penalty for griefing the lowbies. I don't understand how someone feels superior taking down someone 10-20 levels below them, repeatedly. Having said that, certain challenge zones (i.e. Outlands PVP areas, plagueland towers) should not carry the same penalty due to their very nature.
Having said this, the penalty can't be so severe as to encourage players bringing along human shields to limit the abilities of their opponents. I've accidentally killed low level characters because of aoe abilities while the main target was at level. Something like rez sickness could spawn a whole new way to grief other players.
Nov 2nd 2010 6:48PM Randy, I think Blizz was trying to add some humor to the game with DEHTA, as opposed to making a political statement about environmental extremists.
Agree that there was not a ton of night elf presence in Wrath, but they should make up for it in Cataclysm. They also were at Star's Rest though.
Oct 28th 2010 5:40PM No way, any fraction of a second after 12:00:00 is the next day. There can't be random seconds out there unattached to anything. At least that doesn't make sense to me.....
Oct 28th 2010 2:54PM They don't sell on my server for some reason, even after pricing them at a loss considering the mats.
Oct 27th 2010 7:14PM So, I'm not 100% clear on this. Does he briefly attack one zone each day or attack one zone all day. The first option seems too short. The second would get old if you were questing that zone. Why don't they have him attack multiple zones briefly each day. You never know where he'll show up, but he'll be somewhere once every 4-6 hours.
