Neverwinter tempts your lust for glory with its first teaser trailer {Massively}
Nov 30th 2011 2:36PM if this is the best they could do with a 30 second ish trailer. then im afraid of the game.
lets look at the trailer.
terribad voice overs.
weak story
slapped together direction.
just think about whats happening with the game.
once upon a time, right around COH's launch. i was actually quite the jack emerett fanboy. every interview really made me feel like he knew what he was doing.
but now i realize hes more like paul ws anderson than he is chris nolan. he talks a good game, but the results are almost always mediocre

everything ragnar has ever done at funcom has only been polished.
he wrote all the lore for anarchy online. which was deep, complete. and immensely entertaining. in many peoples opinion, the best part of rubi-ka.
the longest journey and dreamfall were also both extremely polished at launch (although not mmo's, they were still very bug free games that won tons of awards).
i think ragnar has earned the benefit of the doubt via years of hard work over there at funcom.
so its safe to say, because of him, its going to rock.
Activision Blizzard loses 1.1 million WoW players since May, triples profits {Massively}
Nov 14th 2011 5:03AM A lot of comments about how wow is losing numbers.
ok, yeah sure theyre losing players.
but theyre still in the double digit millions when it comes to subscribers. thats still about 9 million more than the next pay to play competitor in the mmo market.
when you consider the biggest number blizzard ever hoped to have was 1 million within 3 years. i think they arent worried about the losses even for a minute.
theyre still ahead of everyone else in the mmo market by a mile.
metiphorically, if the mmo market were mixed martial arts. wow would be alastair overeem, and the next closest competitor would be kimbo slice.
Guild Wars 2 audio team heads to nuclear power plant for sound recording {Massively}

Well, every game I've ever worked on, sound was one of the last things tong in.
You can do main development with placeholder sounds. Most teams do
Guild Wars 2 audio team heads to nuclear power plant for sound recording {Massively}
Oct 20th 2011 3:42PM id like to point out that sound is generally the last thing to go in during a development cycle.
so in all likelyhood the game is now feature complete and ready for beta testing for the most part.
BioWare founders: We make the decisions, not EA {Massively}

BioWare open to the possibility of a Mass Effect MMO {Massively}
Oct 1st 2011 4:12PM EA should have had them working on this in the first place rather than the Star Wars MMO.
That might sound crazy but think about it for a second.
Yes, SWTOR will make them some good money. But the Star Wars license is historically insanely expensive. They very well could be straight splitting the profit with Lucasarts.
Mass Effect is something EA owns completely. So they would keep all the profits.
Also, There is a lot of work that goes into the approval process for whats "ok" in the Star Wars universe and what isn't. Again, this is something EA wouldnt have to worry about with Mass Effect. The team can do whatever they want since they completely own the property.
It shouldnt be something they're considering, it should be something they are a year into development on already, at least...
Gamescom 2011: The Secret World launching April 2012 [Updated] {Massively}
Aug 17th 2011 2:08AM @Deadalon
let me remind you that the fault for both of those problems lies squarely on Gaute Godager's shoulders as he was game director for both games launches.
He quit Funcom years ago and left the game industry altogether.
TSW's development is run by Ragnar Tornquist. The only Funcom developer and writer who has never mislaunched, misstepped, or mismanaged any of the titles he was in charge of.
