What every brand new WoW player should know {WoW}

Mar 15th 2012 4:22PM That's not really fair. I deem everyone to be at least neutral until they prove otherwise. Assuming everyone is a jerk is a fast way to not want to interact with anyone. Part of the game is socializing and making friends.

Frankly I'd suggest using the Golden Rule while playing. Sure you're going to encounter jerks, and you might get kicked from groups, but its better to make a positive influence than negative. And assuming everyone is a jerk is probably going to add more negativity.

The real point should be, "there are jerks that play. Try not to let them get to you."

10 death knights kill heroic Ragnaros {WoW}

Mar 14th 2012 1:48PM That would actually be a really interesting fight mechanic....

Raid Rx: Yor'sahj healing on hard mode {WoW}

Mar 10th 2012 11:56PM We've been obliterating H:Yor'sahj for a few weeks now (I say obliterating because our mage topped out around 105k dps during the fight, and ranked somewhere around 90k dps at the end...) on 25 man, and we NEVER leave green up. Ever. Never ever ever. Also, when there's a blue ooze up and we'll be blowing up the former mana void, we have our rogues and feral swap off from the boss (who they've been stabbing enthusiastically) to the mana void while the rest of us are killing the ooze. Once we're back and lost our mana, we have a DK grab the void in and we blow it up. Handy little trick to do that won't have people not dpsing the boss during a time they normally would be.

Additionally, there's an addon, Yor'sahj Announce that you can customize depending on your raid group size or skill to announce which ooze to focus killing (it works in LFR, Normal and Heroic), which is fantastic.

5 not-so-simple ways Blizzard can fix the World of Warcraft Auction House {WoW}

Feb 21st 2012 5:29PM One of the things I've have percolating in the back of my head is a loan system. Say you want 5k gold for epic flying. You can take that amount out at any bank. To recoup their gold, the bank then takes a share of all the gold you loot until the amount you borrowed is paid back. You can set how much you're willing to let the bank take per loot (25%, 50% etc) and the same amount from auctions and you're not allowed to take out another loan until tour current one is paid off. This could be set account wide so you can't take out multiple loans out across multiple characters. Maybe a limit of 10k maximum loan so you aren't taking out a bazillion every time.

The Queue: Heart of the Aspects {WoW}

Feb 15th 2012 2:22PM I was tanking it last night and said, "I'm pulling that pat before some face pulls it." So of course when the healer zoned in, he mounted up and ran past it...

People - if your tank says they're going to pull that group, let them pull it. Don't run past, forcing the group to risk pulling it. No its not hard to avoid but apparently listening is.

*end rant*

Breakfast Topic: How do you handle real-life interruptions? {WoW}

Feb 12th 2012 12:52PM Whenever I've had to afk for any particular reason, I usually say, "Hey I need to AFK real quick. You can keep pulling though." so they don't feel obligated to wait for me. I don't like to hold a group back, and if my afk took longer than aniticpated, I'm peachy with being kicked.

However, if I'm just being lazy about trash or something in LFR, I'll pull out the, "Brb, minor kitty emergency." and when I 'come back' (because I was probably just alt tabbed or MAYBE getting up for food or more water), I'll explain that, "Sorry, my cat forgets she's not a kitten anymore and can't fit under the couch." Because lets be fair - Yor'Sahj trash sucks, and no one ever wants to do it. (I wish I could use this excuse on my tank sometimes..)

Feb 8th 2012 12:28PM Heroic Hagara is kind of a pushover compared to other heroics imo.

Lichborne: 5 common death knight mistakes {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 6:32PM When I'm tanking on my DK, I find it immeasurably satisfying to DG them back into the group as soon as they disengage. I don't know why, but IT IS. Everytime I cackle at my computer..

Spiritual Guidance: The 10 best weapons for shadow priests in patch 4.3 {WoW}

Jan 18th 2012 7:25PM Frankly, I found the dagger to be VERY lackluster. I got it, tried it, lost a ton of dps, and went back to my Runestaff of Nordrassil. It's entirely possible it was due to being single target versus multitarget, but I just was not even a little impressed with it. I went on to grab Heroic Vagaries of Time instead, and I have a Ti'tahk, but I'm unsure as to which would offer me a better upgrade. Obviously the haste is awesome, but my Heroic mace paired with a normal Ledger offers more spell power (roughly 300 more). However... I'm the only one with the staff right now, so I'm feeling obligated to use the staff so that I can benefit my raid group... :(

The Queue: Catbed.jpg {WoW}

Jan 8th 2012 3:35PM Hooray for returned kitty! I would be absolutely heartbroken if my kitty ran off. D:

My sister and her husband actually had a cat (Roscoe) that appeared to have run off and I can't remember how long he was gone; a few months at the very least. Then one day her neighbor came up to her and all but said that the neighbor's husband had taken my sister's cat out to the country and just.. left it there - because he just didn't like the cat (who, to my knowledge, wasn't even a bad cat or anything like that - he was just a normal outdoor cat).

Fast forward some unspecified amount of time, and my sister's cat was sitting outside their back door wanting to come in. There were a number of "HOLY CRAP ROSCOE IS HOME" texts between her and her husband.
