Dec 19th 2011 7:26PM My thinking was that they should have done the maintenance at 6am today. Since there is a grace period, anyone in early access would still be able to be playing right now. But I'm sure maintenance schedules were planned way before BioWare changed their mind about the grace period.
Dec 19th 2011 6:57PM Why on Earth are they doing maintenance during prime time? Couldn't they do it at 6am like every other MMO? That would have made a lot more sense!
Feb 25th 2011 6:37PM I like how the screenshot shows the applicant listing their role(s). I really hope to see that expanded to the guild calendar. It would be useful to know which roles are signed up for a particular event!
Feb 17th 2011 6:53PM I wish Blizzard would fix it so that you can more easily ignore other players in the Dungeon Finder. More often than not I get the annoying message "player not found" because, of course, they're on a different realm. Sometimes this happens even if they're still in the group! Even though the odds of meeting up with the same jerk is low (especially with more battle groups joining together), it would be nice if the ignore system worked as intended!
Dec 26th 2010 10:38AM I've found recently that battlegrounds can have very foul language. I remember taking a screenshot of the end-game screen, and having to scroll the chat bar quite a ways to avoid the language.
Jan 19th 2010 6:13PM This is a great article. Very helpful and well written. Keep doing them for each of the classes!
Nov 17th 2009 7:51PM I would be against vote kicking in battlegrounds. If it were implemented, way too much time would be spent preoccupied with that than with helping the team and getting toward a victory.
Nov 5th 2009 9:19PM You'll still need to come to Dalaran for the weekly raid boss quest--to get it and to turn it in. And the fishing and cooking dailies are there too. Not to mention Wintergrasp. I keep my hearthstone there just for the portals to the other capital cities.
Nov 3rd 2009 7:26PM So can paladins cast Lay on Hands on themselves again? Or is this change in addition to what's already in place?
Sep 12th 2009 10:39AM I think Blizzard should take this idea one step at a time. The best step would be to put an authenticator inside each box of the next expansion, and then require battle.net accounts in order to have access to the expansion.
That would get a large chunk of the player population on board, and would distribute the authenticators without extra shipping. Getting those who don't have the expansion would be a bit trickier, but could still be done.
I very much agree that trial accounts should be on their own separate server. There are pros and cons to this idea as well, though. The pro was pointed out in the article--gold sellers and hackers can't talk to those with accounts. The con would be that Blizzard wants new potential players to be able to experience the world of Azeroth as close to what it would be, which includes all the other players that are having fun and leveling high. That hook can make a big difference, and it's why they limit the auction house and class trainers to the capital cities in Azeroth. While the solution would be practical, it would take a lot of convincing for Blizzard to go along with it.
