Feb 25th 2009 11:09AM I strongly disagree with your claim that casuals don't need to know their threat levels (unless you're limiting "casual" to mean people who never instance, which I suspect is a only small segment of the WoW population).
Any time you're grouping with other people, you should be aware of your aggro. Otherwise, you're making things extremely difficult for your tanks and healers. Wiping in an instance because someone pulled aggro is only different from wiping in a raid in terms of scale, not in terms of kind.
Also, even casuals can get a lot of benefit out of a damage meter like recount. While damage meters are often abused, they're helpful to gauge whether you're in an instance that's appropriate for your gear and level. If you're doing 700 dps in a heroic, you might not realize how badly you're underperforming without an addon.
