May 7th 2010 10:03AM I fully agree, this is by far the most stressful part of an encounter for us healers. Back when this was progression we had to balance out heals to keep everyone between 500-1k health to prevent healing on the boss from outweighing the dps. Then on top of that you had to wach out for your Penetrating Cold assignment, changing every 15 seconds or so and would one shot the target if you didn't get your heal off in time. Then have add pickups which could just as easily turn and own a healer then be tanked. Personally I had it easier then most, as a resto shaman I just stacked a SP set and let my Healing Stream tot do all my group healing work. God bless our resto druid for taking 2 targets by himself.

Feb 6th 2010 10:57AM No healing weapon in this game even compares to Val'anyr. Go look at parses on WOL and look at how much damage a good shaman/druid/priest can mitigate with one. You will find that if you count that mitigated damage as "healing", which you should, then that Hammer is worth 8-10% increased healing out put. That is INSANE, the highest I have seen this pos is 3.4% from our resto druid on Heroic 25 twins "door strat" which is as good as it can possibly get for this mace. Most fights it will barely account for 1% of your total healing.
That being said I like where this mace is right now. If they did anything more to "fix" it then this mace would be coming dangerously close to being as effective as a Legendary. IE; increase the heal, remove the 5 player limit, or increase the proc rate. And in my eyes as well as anyone that has earned that Hammer, that would be completely unacceptable.

Nov 29th 2009 10:04PM If you kiddies would remember to really put your thinking caps on you would realize that the Restoration totem can be stacked before you even pull the boss. Remember dropping your HS Totem to stack Illustration of the dragon soul up to 200 before pulling the boss? Same mechanics will work here.
Also looking at the T10 2set bonus we will be using RT quite a bit more then in previous content.

My SWP gear wasn't replaced by greens EVER, Blue/Purple Heroic gear replaced a few pieces before we really got into naxx/eoe/Sarth. Cataclysm will be the same. Those of us that will actually be sporting T10.5 -.75 will not be replacing it again until we start raiding Cataclysm.
I for one can't wait to put ol' Ragnaros in his place... AGAIN

Nov 17th 2009 4:08PM Learn to read fool. All of the major mats will be attainable in ICC, with some minor mats coming from the long quest line that will accompany this Axe. The shards come from Arthas' THRONE not his Tomb, Souls are collected by killing a certain number and different types of thrash in ICC, the Saronite I presume will be random drops (atiesh/thunderfury) from either bosses, trash nodes or some combination of the three.
