Spiritual Guidance: Making an Insightful meta choice {WoW}
Jan 11th 2010 10:06AM Dear readers of SG:
If mana is NEVER an issue, and you are not a class that benefits from having more intellect (i.e. paladins)... You already have dual Solaces (or Solace + Abacus/whatever)... I present to you the obvious answer.
Revitalizing Skyflare Diamond
+11 Mana every 5 seconds and 3% Increased Critical Healing Effect
Requires at least 2 Red gems
Item Level 80
3% Increased Crit Healing Effect.
As a shaman? Fantastic. As a disc priest? Also fantastic. As an hpriest? Eh. There's still further alternatives, but, for now? If you need greater thoroughput, the RSD is the greatest choice over, YET AGAIN, another Meta concerned about regen. Secondly, knowing that it requires 2 red gems requires less constraints over using blue gems, which Ms. Moore correctly ascertained as disc priest's worst nightmare. Indeed is also true with high gear level resto shamans who, like the priests, and like most healing classes right now, no longer have to worry about regen to the same degree, and focus more on executing the greatest amount of thoroughput possible, especially in damage heavy encounters and hard mode ICC (upcoming).
If we once again, come to a point and time where regen is an issue that cannot be solved by not spamming your highest mana cost spell (paladins excluded) and by using a full kit of your classes healing abilities that actually have an efficient Healing per Mana ratio (i.e Druids... spamming healing touch? Sounds icky!), then I'll say, please, lets return to the IED where we need the additional MP5. But, throughout most of ToGC, there was little need for more regen after acquiring mana tide, innervate, shadowfiend... but there is ALWAYS a need for more throughput.
BlizzCon 2009: Class panel #2, the good parts version {WoW}
Aug 23rd 2009 11:26AM spriests rejoice for blue recognizing the obvious!
HUZZAH HUZZAH! I mean, the answer is easy. Convert spirit to spellpower at a 30% rate like every other freakin caster class.
Raid Rx: Cataclysmic stat changes for healers {WoW}
Aug 22nd 2009 1:14PM it does bother me that INT becomes the most valuble stat... because of the conjunction of mana with INT... think of how that changes the pvp scene with mages with 30k mana...
Raid Rx: Cataclysmic stat changes for healers {WoW}
Aug 22nd 2009 12:19PM am i the only one who thinks the changes are going to:
1) dumb down gearing.
2) increase general gear competition
3) again. cater to the casuals.
maybe its just me... but i enjoy creating spreadsheets and trying to figure out how to properly gear and what upgrades are actually better.
that said: the most ridiculous change thusfar is removing SP and instead making 'SP' dependent on INT... sure, it might play out alright eventually, but, making dps classes stack INT to increase their throughput will make INT the most valuable stat on all items, and thus remove the boundaries between healing/dps gear... which is already such a problem... sure, maybe it's great for such oft neglected classes (*cough* ele shaman)... but overall... it's just going to overall increase competition for gear in general instead of providing niche gear for each class... maybe it's just me, but i think that conceptually is a bit silly.
World of Warcraft Patch 3.2 Priest Guide {WoW}
Aug 4th 2009 7:26PM serious.
shadow buffs are bogus.
if you care at all for shadow, do not talent dispersion. wtb living bomb, a dps increasing curse, a nuke (chaos bolt much?). SOMETHING at 51 points that isn't a defensive spell.
oh. GC. it's working as intended. sure. it's okay as we still get lawlstomped in pvp, that we're still topping out at around 5.3k dps with other pure dps, and some hybrid classes topping out 6k+... and we're completely utterly useless in burst.
our heals get nerfed in both corners of thoroughput via disc AND holy. oh yeah. this is major QQ drippage. both corners. all three corners...
World of Warcraft Patch 3.2 Shaman Guide {WoW}
Aug 4th 2009 5:09PM *cough* priest.
but i can't say enough about how weapons are pretty much sucky for caster shamans... either you get spirit or mp5... and everyone will be like 'dude. that's a healing weapon'...
i.e. guiding star.
Blood Pact: All about soul stones {WoW}
Jul 1st 2009 3:31PM Why not priests? Being squishy is probably the BEST reason to SS a priest. If they're more likely to die, and you need X healers, Y healers survive AOE attack... priest dies. Now you only have Y healers, one of which has a soulstone, because you put it on the one most likely to live.
Just doesn't make all that much sense to save the one least likely to die.
Video teases iPhone WoW client {WoW}
Apr 25th 2009 11:45AM easier way to play on long car trips:
plug in your blackberry into your computer, pay 15 dollars for unlimited data. grind that dk on long trips. as long as you're not instancing, the lag is more than managable (400-600ms on verizon, slightly higher on 3g networks).
Triple specs appear to be at least possible {WoW}
Mar 31st 2009 12:49PM Yet another reason why people won't be rolling non pure dps classes.
YOU MEAN I HAVE TO PAY 1000 G TO GET DUAL SPECS? I'D RATHER SPEND MY G AND ROLL A ROGUE.
signed
holy priest and resto shaman's for more heals and tanks club.
WoW Rookie: A character by any other name would be so weak {WoW}
Mar 25th 2009 7:04PM I personally like the ones that are like (and have come across):
a mage named: frostfyia who's arcane
or a priest: shadowkilla who's now spec'd disc
or a DK going by: xthexunholyx who's really not unholy (i'm not even sure what they are anymore).
i think i just laugh to myself whenever i come across these people who have their names, but were so dense as to not actually realize that they're probably not going to be the same spec throughout the entire game...
personally i'm a big fan of the: lolatoppally and zomglocksaresoop...
