Apr 11th 2010 1:32PM Nazgul, have you ever met the instant cast druid? let me introduce you...
Apr 11th 2010 1:12PM My simple question would have to be this;
Does any druid actually object to the idea of having to be in ToL to heal competitively, but having access to damage spells whilst in it; in other words, ToL no longer restricting spell use, but basically buffing our numbers to make us competitive? Then a minor glyph that stops you looking like a tree. i can't see any reason for people to disagree with that tbh. If you don't want to look like a tree fine, you don't have to. But that shouldn't change the basic nature of the druid class.
Apr 11th 2010 1:08PM point 1) The armour is, in the opinion of some, shit. for lack of more eloquent language, some people simply don't like the new druid armour sets, myself included. I'm not a huge fan of the way my armour looks. I'm not saying that Blizzard actively didn't try to design it well, but i think at the back of peoples minds will always be 'most of them will never show it off anyway...'
point 2) so why, if it will make NO DIFFERENCE to our healing ability, should we not be allowed to make ourselves look and feel like druids. Tbh, i'm not bothered about what every other healer needs to be equal to the rest. we're druids, we're unique BECAUSE we change forms. If anything, the fact it is only a flavour difference is LESS of a reason to remove it.
point 3) You're hippocritical. you act as if everyone is actually on YOUR side. Yes, the issue is split, but if people choose to make their side of the argument clear they have the right to, regardless of whether it disagrees with your world view.
point 4) Restoration will no longer have the druid-wide ability of polymorph immunity and CC breaking, which i see as a weakening of the class. If im healing i dont want to jump in and out of cat form every minute to break a polymorph, because while im in cat form, i cant heal.
Apr 11th 2010 1:00PM I must admit, i think GC made a better argument then he previously had.
Provided the balance is there, and that we are no longer worse off than other healers without ToL form, i can't really argue with him. unless, yet again, we get some shit armour, because lets face it, very little if anything changes between specs. With balance and feral still being in form all the time, is Resto alone enough reason to design something that we actually WANT to be seen in. personally i'm sick of the ridiculously huge shoulderpads.
But the minor glyph sounds fair. I think its wrong not to give people a choice. At the end of the day, yes, some of us WANT the flavour of being in tree form, even if it makes no difference to our healing ability whatsoever. so what? Who's fault is it we're used to it and enjoy it? They designed it that way in the first place, afterall.
Apr 10th 2010 8:34AM Healing? in Cata? it depends how quickly i can level a priest/pally main to replace my failform of a resto druid.
The difference between Cata healing and WOTLK healing for me would be that Cata healing looks shit. that's about it. i don't even get a new spell, whoopee! -.-
Apr 10th 2010 8:11AM Anyone else notice how the moment Druids are made to become more like priests, priests get an awesome spell to pull their friends out of a dangerous area? what can druids do? oh wait. F*** all is what we can do. deary me Blizzard.
Anyone else tell i feel let down by the changes?
Apr 10th 2010 6:57AM Okay then, i implore you to tell a bear, cat or moonkin to shift out midfight and see what it does to their dps or whatever they are currently tanking. it will be rather funny.
and you also gain a 20% mana reduction on HoT spells. thats a big reduction, one thats also ingrained into the class.
Vanilla was years ago. get over vanilla and TBC. it's now im more interested in, where we're actually a COMPETITIVE healer.
Apr 10th 2010 5:30AM i totally agree. Even more, i disagree with the idea that i 'loose utility' by going into resto form. Afterall, what am i trying to do? heal. The druid setup basically means that i simply cannot do any sort of real damage with a resto spec, even outside of form, the balance spells are just dire with a resto spec. whilst in ToL i get fantastic healing, but i cant do damage. Oh well, thats what the other 3/5/15 people i'm running with are there for. if im in ToL, im here to heal, not pussyfoot around (pun intended)
And if Blizzard want me to show of my armour more, then make it look SOMEWHAT ATTRACTIVE. T9 i could just about bare, even with the bloody skirt. but the helmet was silly, and the T10? lasherweave shoulders? helm? seriously?
Apr 10th 2010 5:05AM To add to my point, if anything it seems ridiculous that no extra spells are being added to a druid's healing arsenal when you consider it from a lore perspective. Two new races, one VERY adept with transformation, and another who have been healing since time immoral for the horde, and we're just what we always were.
Bravo. I'm not normally one to go off the deep end and rant, and i most probably won't give up my Druid, for no other reason than i spent too much time and effort making it my main class, with the achievements i wanted, and gear i wanted.
All i can say is roll on profession previews, maybe engineering will brighten my day.
Anyone else tempted to call greenpeace and claim that Blizzard are trying to cut down millions of blameless trees for their own benefit?
Apr 10th 2010 4:58AM i would have to point out the zero cooldown of this thing. who needs several? give me 30 seconds and i can have about 30 mushrooms surrounding me, invisible.
imagine setting up a ton of them on a single spot, then typhooning someone onto them XD
