Jun 6th 2011 6:46PM Exactly. The tauren have more in common with the night elves than any Horde race now. I know, let's get rid of this artificially polarized two-party system... the tauren and trolls should join up with the night elves and worgen and create a third group. Call it the Green party, or the Cenarion Republic or something. Official motto: A pox on both your houses. Basic Campfire for prime minister.

Jun 6th 2011 12:31AM Anybody else finding it impossible to level a new tauren paladin? You can go north and help the goblins stripmine and destroy Azshara... wait, weren't we enraged at what they were doing to Stonetalon and were righteously slaughtering them for it? Oh, these are OUR goblins, so it's supposed to be OK now. Or you can go into Ashenvale and help the orcs clearcut the great forests and slaughter the ancient protectors who are defending them... but ancient protectors seem like the next best thing to sacred servants of the Earth Mother.

Sure, there are quests you can stomach, but so many of them make me feel like I'm on the wrong side and would rather kill the questgiver and his buds than the stated enemy. Not to mention the often horrible quests from Forsaken, speaking of wanting to kill the questgiver instead.

The Horde wasn't supposed to be evil, but it sure seems these days like the tauren (and sometimes the trolls) are the only decent people in it any more. Feels like the only thing keeping them around is old loyalties; if Cairne was deciding on joining today I doubt he'd ever go for it. Walling off Mulgore like Gilneas and telling everyone else to F off would be more likely.

Sep 18th 2010 4:10PM I don't normally get into the factionalism at all, and often think it's pretty silly and sometimes even stupid, but there was one prior in-game thing that made me feel the hate for a while: The Path of Glory in HP. I mean, c'mon, really, a long road entirely paved with the crushed bones of the genocidal slaughter of your innocent neighbors? And then naming it that? And note that, y'know, it's still there, and they're not trying to clean it up or even quit using it.

"Oh, but we were under evil mind control and stuff! Not our fault!" Yeah, you just stand there on the crushed baby skulls and keep telling yourself that. And then to not even be remotely as horrified and repentant as they should be once they were free again? Mind control or not, once freed they should be so horrified and ashamed they wouldn't dare even remotely bother the draenei again, let alone stay so hostile.

Gah. Now I gotta go play my draenei ret pally for a while...

Apr 13th 2010 8:59PM Might be worth mentioning the addon DrDamage here ( It's great for anyone who really wants to get into the details of how your spells and skills are computed. Does all the math for you and shows things like the actual final efficiency (damage per mana/rage/energy), power (damage per second), total chance to hit a particular selected target, total average damage per hit counting crit bonuses and suchlike, etc. using all your current talents and stat bonuses. Great stuff.

Improving the character selection screen {WoW}

Oct 4th 2009 6:00PM The colored lighting is a huge pain when trying to select that perfect shade of ghastly green or whatever. Several times I've had to go through the whole creation process, only to delete the character and start over once I got into the game and saw what they really looked like.

Cycling multiple backgrounds would be great, but mostly it just needs some way to change to a neutral daylight option like the Stormwind or Ironforge backgrounds.

I mean, I know the game is totally about raiding and PvPing at the level cap and nothing else matters at all , but for those few freaks like myself that like questing and leveling alts, nerfing out of combat regen massively will totally suck when you don't have the compensating in-combat regen buffs yet.

If you thought mages had to drink too much before, blecch.
