Nov 9th 2011 8:27AM I see both sides of the argument (Kylenes below are well stated) - yet I remain nostalgic for the days of Classic wow. A player in T3 or AQ gear was relatively rare, just as high warlords and field marshalls were, but each wound up feeling far more powerful due to their gear. Now that's strictly the province of arena type players except for tarecgosa holders who have a nice pvp set.
Not trying to say I think the game can go back to that old style as it's designed now. I just have fond memories of it, and I even enjoyed vanilla pvp.
Oct 28th 2011 4:00PM I am beginning to wonder whether it is simply inevitable for someone to grow weary of WoW, despite new content and class changes. I still play, but I don't need to like I used to. Perhaps it's just the natural evolution of my relationship with WoW. Yes, game changes have affected the ups and downs of that relationship, but in the end, the result remains the same and inevitable - I'll find other stuff to do.
Perhaps others who share this feeling will instead blame Blizzards developers for not doing the impossible, and rewinding time to when the game meant more to some people than it does now.
Oct 28th 2011 12:10PM Blizzard has thus far been careful to only implement cosmetic offerings for paying them more money. You can buy mounts and pets - they don't give you any advantage over a guy who just rides whatever mount he got from the vendor and doesn't care much for pets. I would be shocked to see that change to include a head start or exclusive travel privileges.
Oct 28th 2011 12:05PM I'm surprised you were able to go from 80-85 on questing alone. I've only done it once, healed a ton of non heroics and didn't have all that many quests left to get Loremaster of Cataclysm after 85. Maybe my memory is rusty on this, though.
I'll be doing a similar style of leveling to 90. Dungeon queue here, guild group there, quest my way through the zones and develop some mix of better ilvl (dungeon drops, quest rewards, rep purchases) and familiarity with the dungeons to allow me to be effective in heroics, even while people are fumbling their way through the first few weeks in the unfamiliar stuff.

Can you please explain what a payload and murderball style BG would look like? DOTA BG sounds great. I didn't know they were trying to bring that along, in addition to the Blizz DOTA.
Oct 28th 2011 11:46AM What benefit is there to people basically sprinting to end game with their 1st character? Stopping to smell the roses along the way through exploring the big wide world is a good thing. Abandoning one character to start up one of another class/race/faction is good too. These things help you build memories and bonds to the game environment that I don't think come as easily during endgame, where dungeons are sprinted through by people who've done them 30 times, all just a queue away.

I'm right with you. 2 Things I want to see.
1 - I want to fight for the sake of Theramore. I want my Dwarf Priest to ride as part of a flotilla over to the island and make sure that the horde pay dearly for their victory. I expect Blizz to just overnight patch this when 5.0 hits, so I expect to be disappointed, but /shrug.
2 - I too want Turaylon to return and smash horde faces. He would make for a horrible neutral faction leader. The guy saw the horde betray Lothar, so he picked up a broken sword and rallied the Alliance to a great victory. For good measure, he sacrificed everything (he didn't expect to ever return from Draenor/Outland) to venture through the Dark Portal to continue his assault. A guy like that belongs to Stormwind, clad in golden lions with a beautiful war mace.
The twin Lions of Stormwind - Turalyon and Varian. May they strike fear deep into the hearts of the horde as they unleash their fury in the name of Wrynn, Lothar, Bolvar, Theramore, Southshore, Gilneas and the rest of their fallen friends and allies.
Oct 6th 2011 7:10PM Curious what the queue thinks about Blizz revisiting Path of the Titans in expac 5.0 . I know it's all speculation until Blizzcon.
Jan 15th 2011 8:29AM The priest changes, for sure. They didn't really beat around the bush about fixing some mana costs or spell strengths. Just hoping that the prayer of healing nerf doesn't make raid healing more difficult during progression raiding attempts - I'm guessing new glyphs and a buff to circle of healing should make up for it.
Jan 3rd 2011 3:54PM Also, I find it to be particularly enlightening to ask what a particular strategy was if a boss went very smoothly and you didn't catch why exactly. Ex in BRC the fire dance boss, you can keep the adds from spawning if he maintains the heated debuff from frequent, quick trips through the fire. Now I will spread this info to all groups I join that might struggle there.
