Oct 20th 2011 9:03AM I just want to say that I have loved reading this series for the KYL. I'm brand new to the lore of WoW, even though I've been playing for years. I have always been interested in it and definitely fascinated by the Warcraft lore, but I've always been so daunted by the extremity of it. This helps put some of it into perspective. If anyone has any suggestions as to where else to read to get started, that'd be much appreciated :). Anyways, love this series!
Oct 2nd 2011 7:26PM I'm a huge fan of WoW Lore and looking into all of the different storyline components that we get. When I was doing my rep grinds for BC heroics, I know the basic story of the Botanica. So I have two questions:
1st.) What is the story behind the Mechanar and Arcatraz
2nd.) I read the Wow lore column but where is a good place to get started on learning more about the lore. I mean, there's so much lore out there, I get pretty overwhelmed pretty quick and I was just wondering where a good place to start is at. Thanks!
Apr 27th 2010 9:38AM As someone who stared late in the game's history ( a few months before Wrath was released ), I never was able to experience the 40-man raids such as MC and BWL. I didn't even get to really enjoy Kara or SWP raiding in TBC either. My first raid was Naxxramas. Then it was Ulduar. Then naturally ToC and now, finally, ICC.
I'm sorry to say that each of those had an epic feeling to me. There are some fights that I couldn't stand in each of the places (Faction Champions, I'm looking at you). But when Sapphiron appeared out of the swirling mist of white, I was dumbfounded. This was MY first dragon high-end raiding boss. My guild, being extremely casual at the time, downed him later in the game. It did give me a sense of accomplishment. Downing Hodir for the first time after a few weeks of tries, our vent was screaming with pleasure that we had downed something significant to us...something that was epic to us. ToC had less epicness, but ICC still has that. Sindragosa, another dragon fight, is such an amazing and complicated fight. Screams of horror filled vent when we wiped at 1% and when we finally got her down in 25 we were so happy! We had made it to the Lich King! The ultimate bad guy of this expansion!
Am I sorry I missed the vanilla and TBC raids? Oh, most definitely. However, does that mean because many other people have experienced it, I can't get the epic feeling out of ICC or any Wrath raid for that matter? Absolutely not. It makes me sad, even mad, when people complain about how lame Wrath is for them because it's not hard enough. Well, I have two things to tell them: give me your Heroic ICC full clear achievement and I'll allow you some room or if you don't have, then stfu. In the end, it's your money that you're choosing to give them and continue to play. I pay them because I still get that epic feeling in the game many times.
Mar 11th 2010 12:15PM I know right? There's nothing like taking down those pesky elites for a quest and your health is so low and you don't know if you'll get your heal off in time....when suddenly there's a heal outta nowhere or a person pulls aggro off you. I love helping the opposite faction and giving a small /wave or /bow at the end. And helping new people in the game is awesome because it feels like "Hey, I just helped someone learn something new about this awesome game." I love that about the game...comradery in a sense.
Oct 20th 2009 2:06PM When I read that snippet about Snowe crossing faction lines, I was mad that Wow.com had brought politics into WoW. Ya, downgrade me all you want. But I'm a political person who enjoys WoW to get away from the world and its problems. If it goes on in trade, I quickly execute a /leave 2. But, reading these comments, this made up for it. Major Lol! I loved it. Great going on that part. So .... I guess that Wrynn wasn't the one I voted for last election lol.
Aug 21st 2009 1:20PM This thing isn't even fully loading for me. It just freezes on the streaming page and doesn't do anything....urg. Waste of money.
