Blood Pact: Soul sticks and soul carrots {WoW}

Mar 12th 2012 2:10PM It isn't a requirement, since we just want a warlocky columnist, but if she can occasionally make Belt, look like a dirty pair of socks then things are good too.

Blood Pact: Soul sticks and soul carrots {WoW}

Mar 12th 2012 2:06PM Very good! I couldn't put it any better

Breakfast Topic: 'Every female WoW player has healed at least once' {WoW}

Mar 12th 2012 1:58PM I think the biggest thing is everyone will occasionally like to check things out, people like to have a healer and dps are more often than not, replaceable so people get stuck healing. Women may just not decide to exit the role as often or as quickly SOMETIMES.

Does WoW need more minigames? {WoW}

Mar 9th 2012 5:25PM Not for me, I don't need more things in game to distract me from my goals. As it is the game is too much of a time sink. So lets say I have been running dungeons all week and helping getting mats so I can raid and help my other guildies raid, even once or twice a week. All of that could be DRASTICALLY impeded with just a few more "wouldn't this be great" hoops to jump through. The game pretty much shut down during the scourge invasion, how would you like to see capital cities shut down because the opposing faction burned all the fields? Heck, silly minigames having any real noticeable effect on the rest of the game world is dangerous.
That itself is why world pvp has been shut down in every way they can without flat making it undo-able on all servers, because it impedes people from doing what they are paying for.
In addition, do you really want funds and time that could be spent into quest, dungeon, raid, or even graphic quality going into making more mini games more widespread in game?

Blizzard's post-mortem on Cataclysm dungeons and raids {WoW}

Mar 5th 2012 11:59PM the mechanics in the heroics are anything but "shitty", it is the fact that one person screwing up ruins it for everyone. That is where raid difficulty is supposed to have the line drawn. The fights themselves are VERY entertaining, it is the bad attitude of the players about them, the fact that not everyone is always on their A game, that is the reason the can be a drudgery. I am not saying people should need to always be on their A game for heroics, but it is definitely difficult to create a feeling of suspense or desperation in a dungeon without that requirement. Halls of Reflection was my favorite heroic in Wrath, not because it could randomly screw you, but because when it wouldn't RNG screw over eating a squishy, you had everyone, regardless of skill level, get serious, and when you did manage, you totally felt like you rocked!

Blizzard's post-mortem on Cataclysm dungeons and raids {WoW}

Mar 5th 2012 10:32PM Naxx was one of the Raids in original wow that had a great deal of its difficulty and mechanics gutted of flat out nerfed into oblivion before we even saw it in Wrath. So are you to say that a 5 man's boss mechanic cannot be of comparable, if not slightly more difficult than one of the simplest raids in recent history?

The playerbase needs to step up, if only a little. They tried too hard all at once, but you can't have bosses with only 2 abilities that they use once or twice a fight anymore, it just isn't comparable. The biggest difference in cata 5 mans from Wrath ones is you were much less likely to be able to manage to carry anyone, not that you can't, but it is harder.

Know Your Lore, TFH Edition: The naaru are a menace that must be destroyed {WoW}

Mar 4th 2012 9:42PM I find the fact that undead being "pawns" of the old gods to be somewhat.....difficult. If the somewhat free willed scourge were outside the realm of influence of the old god of death, Yoggie, than the chances of some other old god holding sway over the Forsaken is unlikely. Most likely, imo is that they simply see all other races by default as enemies, because from their view all races see them as by default as dangerous and evil.

Breakfast Topic: Is "For the Horde" obsolete? {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 1:29PM I think that the upcoming warring in MoP could be the only thing that could unify the respective factions. Raze Theremore, kill Velen, pollute the Sunwell, etc.
