Honestly try healing without using macro, you whould be several seconds slower during a fight and it can and will mean the diference between a wipe and a sucess.
Click target, click spell ... click target click spell
instead by using mouse over macros i can hoover over a character in raid interface and by the click of a button heal him. Faster and easier.
but compared to healing in wow where i used Clique and Grid healing is chunky at best with mouseover macros.
and for addons in wow like my bag addon that consolidate the bags to one big bag not a game breaking but makes it easer for me to sort stuff
No Addons / macros is not all evil but they need to be monitored closly I don't want addons of the kind that we had in 1.x in Wow where we could have a decurse button that decursed everyone who got hit by a prio list. and a healing button that casted the best healing spell for the current dammage level of the target. No thoes types of addons i don't like but addon that help you do somthing more smoother i fully encourage.
Apr 15th 2011 7:18AM im using mouse turning but i prefere to use the movement on the keyboard.
W, S Moving Forward / Backwards
A, D Strafe Left/Right
my normal layout is then
E = Interupt button If i got two interupt Shift+E does the other
Q = Taunt or an emergency defencive button depening on class
R = Charge / DeathGrip / LifeGrip .. well you got the idea ......
§ Emergency button
1 Primary attack spell/skill
2 Secondary attack spell
3 Teritary attack spell
4 AoE spell
5 Odd dps spell normaly not used.
since i add in Shift + all of the ones above also i got on my feral cat druid as an example
E - SkullBash / Shadowmeld
Q - Swipe / cower
R - Feral Charge / Faerie fire
T - Macro go bear pop frenzyed Regen
§ - SF / Barkskin
G - Stealth
F - Switch form (Bear ->Cat / Cat ->bear Maco)
1 - Mangle
2 - Shreed / Ravage
3 - Rake
4 - Rip / FB
Mar 31st 2011 10:24AM Some caster classes that relies on dot dammage haste is alot worse to calculate
we got multiple plataus for several spells and we like to find sweetspots where we got the best benefit for the haste we got.
Haste will affects the number of tics at certain levels of haste.
Only way to see what to aim for at the more complex classes is to make a spredsheet and i did one for my shadowpriest awhile ago with the dot's ticking and haste ratings from 10% ----> 40% in 0.01% intervals and notice where the bumps happen. then if i can't reach next bump slot i whould reforge away from haste.
But yes i whould love to see the Haste mecanics change its to confusing and that i need to use a spreedsheet to check if adding haste will help me or not is just plain wrong.
Mar 22nd 2011 9:47AM StoneCore ...... The entire instance is very unforgiving.
Trashpack before first boss - high dammage output good test on healers capablities. if not done correctly.
first boss -- the bubbling ground 1shots ppl
combined with the crystaline spores that if they arn't AoEd down ... its a wipe.
Second boss -- Falling stones .... LoS issues tank
Trashpack before third boss seen so many scouts wipe us here due to someone gets to close to another group.
Third boss -- he is so unforgiving on tanking him requires standing in right place moving when stuff happens while hoping everyone in your team got a dot on him.
basicly a missaligned boss when he does his Cone attack and you can wipe your party combined that with his AoE ability and a very narrow place to tank him. no he is dangerous.
Fourth boss --- she is a breeze compared to the others, still there is tons of Adds, void zones , and falling stones that instant gib you. All of them are banes for Pugs .....
But i agree on Grim Bartol on Dragon boss the flames are deadly if spawned wrong.
Mar 21st 2011 2:51AM use both.
Mar 18th 2011 6:57AM hmm i feelt i had a hard time starting to tank with my druid.
but once i was past 130k hp (selfbuffed) and 30% dodge then it was ALOT easier.
so for you ferals out there aim for thoes marks. around 140khp selfbuffed is more then enough. remember Luck of the draw and with a priest your hp will swell allot aim for higher Avoidance and you will be fine.
Mar 12th 2011 6:44AM First time in Gruuls Lair (some of the members pressed on to test it) by the time we haven't even cleared Monroes in Karazhan.....
I was playing on my feral druid and was on dps duty.
well we get in we assign targets ....
MT pulls, OT takes his add then 5s later both tanks are dead and i hear a fanatic yell in the Ventrillo RUN FOR YOUR LIFE .....
(i was laughting so hard when we wiped there)
and after an analys we figured it out that some of the healers wasn't pre casting heals meaning once the tank got hit they had a 1s react to he got hit then another 2.5s cast time of the heal ..... well next time we got in there a month later we cleared the place.
for me that previously healed both MC & ZG i was baffled by the idea not to preheal.
Mar 9th 2011 5:22AM im playing my feral druid and from my perspective i have just started tanking on him in HC.s
I have a iLevel of 346 atm and sometimes feel im getting mauled by a hammer.
All depends on how mutch time i got.
If i got 2h time worth of playing il que as a DPS and do the dailies while waiting. if i don't got that mutch time il Que as a tank and suck it up .....
the question is why does it feel like some healers are extreamly weak when i have to fire off both my CD survival buttons on normal trash mobs and we get 2-3 wipes it just breaks my heart. playing as a cat druid gives me the chance of switching to do both healing (Tranquility / Barkskin) and use BattleRes and can switch to Bearform to cover for the tank.
Feb 28th 2011 9:26AM We have been using the Guild bank for Flask / Food before each raid
we have always had the cost at 50% ah prices but since the new perk we have droped the price to free. We recomend our members to donate BoE blues to the bank and all recipies that drops are put in the bank.
Its free to ask for items from the bank but we have a 1 week Rising sun principle, 1 week after first request the item is delivered if no other member request it. if they do they have to be online at the same time and roll for it.
to be honest just by selling of old crap / shards from raids etc we have never had any problem with not having herbs enough for flasks or food for foodbuffs.
It could be that we are cassual guild and that all pitch in .... Herb farmers donate a few stacks, Crafters put up blue items ... , fishermen gather enough mats for food.
I don't see a problem with you using the gold for flasks, also since the Cauldrons are there makeing the regents before hand and handing out flask is more Cost efficient....
take a toll cost for the cauldron use if you want to but asking everyone to bring there own flasks is not very cost efficent.
Feb 16th 2011 5:13AM Bland.....
i have walked down that road before and well i feel he is missing one thing.
Chatter -- for chat bar (Prat is an alternative but more heavy)
And i whouldn't say Bartender is very light.
I have tried Tukui my self and if you want somthing scaled down look there
www.tukui.org Its not very user friendly if you want to modify it as you have to modify the the lua files but they got a good comunity so help shouldn't be imposible.
