Breakfast Topic: Will you buy the new in-game pets? {WoW}

Nov 5th 2009 10:42PM Firstly, I'm not upset about this situation since it's only for cosmetic items- if you saw the D&D Online website, they sell everything from stat increases (permanent +STR, etc..), to gear, to *healing potions.* "Oh, but the game's free," one might say- but don't expect to have a good character unless you're going to sink plenty of real money into the "DDO Store."

Secondly, they've kind of already been doing this, haven't they? (That was rhetorical. The answer is "yes," because they have.) Seen anyone with a Spectral Tiger before? Sure, maybe the player got lucky and pulled that out of a pack when that set was in print, but most of the people with TCG Loot I've talked to either spent time & money on eBay, or they buy the boosters like lottery tickets, hoping they get lucky since they don't play the card game. However else someone may be inclined to view it, the Loot Cards are really just an extra incentive to buy the cards, and therefore can be labeled "Blizzard selling in-game items for money." Haven't heard many complaints about that particular scenario.

As of right now, X-51 Nether-Rocket is $395 [Buyout], Spectral Tigers are available at $580 (that one has 28 bids & 2 days left for bidding) or $850 [Buyout], the Thunderhead Hippogryph non-combat pet can be bought for $70... oh, or the Pandaren & KT pets can be bought for $10 each at the Blizzard Store and they're not going to run out.

In conclusion, $10 for a vanity pet is nothing to throw a fit about- it doesn't make your character better, other people having it doesn't make your character worse, and it's way the hell cheaper than the TCG Loot Cards that are really worth having. As long as the store only sells unnecessary cosmetic enhancements, be it gender/race changes, tabards, mounts, or noncombat pets, at the end of the day it's not going to ruin the game you know & love (or love to bitch about).

No sequel planned for The Craft of War: BLIND {WoW}

Nov 5th 2009 3:14AM Hire him, and maybe that "dance studio" we were supposed to get could be put in during the expansion it was publicized for :p

No sequel planned for The Craft of War: BLIND {WoW}

Nov 5th 2009 3:13AM You both ride Harley Davidson's around town, ruining everyone's nice time, don't you?
I thought so.

The Queue: Ink Spots {WoW}

Nov 5th 2009 3:02AM Oh, my lord- I know it's possible that you thought of that on your own, but I remember posting about healing with Ink Spots playing in the background a while ago & I'm really hoping I helped bring this about :D Made my night!

Patch 3.3 PTR: Ghostcrawler explains Paladin changes {WoW}

Oct 28th 2009 1:27PM I think Outlier was under the impression that the "OP" was for Over-Powered, as opposed to Original Poster. While that would've been funnier, it's not the case- but I can see where there might be some confusion if one isn't familiar with forums.

[1.Local]: PUGgin' for money and emblems for free {WoW}

Oct 25th 2009 9:38PM Hell yes- thank you for finding a way to make Dire Straits relevant :D

The Queue: Image unrelated {WoW}

Oct 21st 2009 3:55AM Fallout 3 soundtrack- nothing better to keep away the tension of healing endgame than Billie Holiday, The Ink Spots, and Bob Crosby :D

Ask a Faction Leader: Prophet Velen {WoW}

Oct 20th 2009 2:35PM Velen got with the twins? Damn, dude- never assaulting him for the Horde again, he's too cool now. Also, until Garrosh gets with some bangin hotties (which he won't), I'm not defending him when Orgrimmar gets hit.

Death to Whirlwind {WoW}

Oct 19th 2009 1:27PM I feel the urge to tell you that your use of the word "prognosticating" made me extremely happy.

On a only-very-vaguely-connected topic, I also feel the urge to inform you that I have been masticating in excess while reading your article.
