Dec 31st 2011 3:25PM ooh shiny kitty!
Jun 17th 2011 9:14AM @Kinetic,
yes I find nothing makes a woman more attractive than morning sickness, constant fatigue, a pelvis that is quite liable to just split in half, stretch marks and reflux!
not to mention all the fun side effects of many complications of pregnancy... add in being on a hormonal rollercoaster that alternates between bawling eyes out and extreme irritability.
Oh there is the occasional woman who literally blooms with pregnancy, but she's a rare one... ;)
*spoken by someone who is 8mths pregnant with her second child, trust me, they may spout the myth about pregnancy being beautiful and skipping through daisies, but honestly there are some parts that just plain suck.
Feb 11th 2011 3:45PM No assignments can work, if its a guild run. I spent all wrath two man healing raids with a druid (i played disc priest). We never had assignments, we just got it done.
PUGS need to be told though. It really shouldn't take too much more than heals a take MT, heals b take OT other heals focus on raid.
I hate how assignments give healers tunnel vision though. Frantically casting heals on someone who doesn't need it only to leave 5 other people to die....
We had to give up only having two healers when we had pugs because most of them just could not seem to get that TWO healers means you are both healing the raid and your assigned tank (or we'd end up with the priest who refused to EVER cast a heal on anyone BUT the MT because.... she was disc. :/ ).... I miss that druid, he was awesome :(
Dec 25th 2010 4:35PM anyone know if there ARE presents this year? logged on last night (dec 25th 730pm Aust time) and nothing...
confused as we are usually able to get them first thing christmas day here :(
Dec 4th 2010 8:32PM Counterspell and Spellsteal....
Mob casting chain lightning? counterspell it....
Mob has handy little buff that provides haste? extra crit? a hot even? spellsteal it. Extra buffs for you, less inc dmg from mobs.... Everyone wins.
Nov 22nd 2010 5:10AM Ty for posting our guild recruitment msg, :) I prob didnt mention it properly, but Avengers is a Horde-side guild (but happy to take in alliance transfers :P ) Still recruiting, contact in game :)
Nov 19th 2010 4:59PM "she would have heard these words eventually and I'm glad she heard them in a context where I was around to explain them, and explain why I never wanted to hear her use them."
This is the best comment. Regardless of WHAT was said, if it brought up awkward conversations with her child then she could have used that as a beneficial time to talk to her child. Not as another person stated, attempt to wrap the world in a mummy-shield.
Next time, either monitor the conversation more closely, announce to the guild your child is online (and tbh being a guild leader, and having to remind the guild as it strays into NSFW chat that that member is ACTUALLY a child so keep it clean... they probably feel a little embarressed and awkward about it anyway, so Im sure they'd appreciate the heads up BEFORE they say something) or find a guild that is child-friendly.
As for the guild the OP quit, I'd suggest setting up something in guild rules re: late night conversations. Namely, that they are adult.
To counteract the whole "different time zones issues" a simple statement can easily rectify this.
Most of my guildies are Sydney based, some in QLD, some in NZ some in WA etc. Our guild policy is that we run on Server Time. This means the "guild time" is correct for most members.... but for those its not, they can easily double check with server time.
Sep 11th 2010 6:48PM My most epic noob moment... Questing in ashenvale with my BF's pally... and encountering the high level alliance tree guardian that wanders around there. He tells me to run... So I do... about 5metres into some bushes....
When the guardian wandered off, thankfully not aggroing on us, BF asks "why are you hiding in a bush? didnt you run away?" MY answer.... I didnt think he'd be able to see me if I hid....
A friends epic noob moment... Has been levelling a ret pally, gotten up to level 50 or so... and keeps complaining that he dies ALL the time... BF and I (having both levelled pallies) are scratching our heads trying to figure out WHY he keeps dying...
So I sit down with him one day, check his gear - all good, level appropriate and good stats... watch him play for awhile... and light dawns....
After explaining what "bubbling", "Lay on Hands" and "Art of War" are... problem solved ;)
Sep 4th 2010 7:45PM Yes it matters... Not because I particularly care how anonymous players view me, but because I dont want to spend my "social gaming time" with people who are rude, obnoxious or thieves.
Back when I was running a moderately successful guild I had a guild disclaimer much like was mentioned in the OP. I have, and will continue, to kick people over ninjaing, offensive speech either in gchat, trade or dungeons/raids.
Just because you are online doesnt give you the right to be a butt to other people, its really that simple.
May 24th 2010 8:41AM Forgetting to switch the raid from 25man to 10man and 10manning Flame leviathan when Ulduar first came out.
Very frustrating as we couldnt figure out why we kept wiping when previously we'd had no issues with it. ><
Eventually someone pointed out there were a TONNE more vehicles and the mistake was realised.
Yes, I am still reminded of it to this day XD
