Mar 22nd 2012 1:36PM The removal of a global LFG chat channel is the main reason no one ever leaves the city. Maybe LFR will alleviate that a bit but there is no efficient and effective way in-game to form a pug for a normal/heroic/transmog/achievement/worldboss raid except by sitting in a city and spamming trade. Bring back the global LookingForGroup channel and the problem is solved and people who complain about people using trade to form groups will be happy too.
If they did this the only reason to go to a city would be to manage auctions or use the trade channel, everythingthing else could be done in any town in the game.
Jan 31st 2012 1:31PM Yeah, every time a new tier of gear comes out I spend hours listing items in priority order by calculating exactly what stats I can get out of them depending upon how they are gemmed and reforged.
Sometimes I am too busy to do this until a few weeks after the raid tier comes out. I've actually passed on gear pieces that might have been upgrades because I was unsure if I would be able to keep my hit cap if I took the new piece.
I do kind of like the tinkering with gems and reforges when I have the time to spare to do it, other times when I am busy and just want to have fun doing a dungeon/raid/quest it is a pain.
Jan 28th 2012 2:17PM I named my alt rogue "MoulinRogue" inspired by one of your previous articles stating being called rouge instead of rogue :)
Jan 24th 2012 5:07PM There are two reasons I constantly ignore the Rogers Internet pamphlets I get in my mail every month and stick with my current ISP. The first is the years their secret throttling of my legal wow updates made it take 10X as long as my guildies to install patches, the seconds is their ridiculously low usage caps (I currently get unlimited usage for 25% cheaper for similar service from a competitor of theirs who doesn't throttle bit-torrent).
Jan 23rd 2012 4:49PM Oh Oh! If the same designers of the "improved" tree of life look for resto druids are creating the new skins then be very afraid, we can all end up looking like a cross between Jimi Hendrix and a piece of purple broccoli or worse!
Jan 5th 2012 4:10PM Yeah, actually I quit half-way through 4.2 because after playing for 5+ years I was sick of all the time spent and work done in the past to collect tokens, run raids and farm reputation to max out my gear becoming irrelevant. I'd have to start all over again each major patch because every three months or so a major patch would come out and make my current gear and exalted factions obsolete. Then I'd have to start the cycle of doing dailies to farm badges and faction reputation again which I never liked doing in the first place. After doing it for years the cycle gets kind of boring and pointless.
The most fun times for me were when I had 90% of the current tier set (there's always that last piece you can never seem to get lol) and I could just log on to fool around doing things I enjoy doing rather than grind dailies and/or faction rep.
Dec 2nd 2011 1:30PM My very first raid was Zul Gurub, the original version, with a pug. I had just reached level 60 and had recently specced healer, afterall in those days druids were expected to always be healers. I really had no idea how to gear my toon yet. We downed a boss, an epic two-handed mace with no stats but damage dropped. No one wanted it, so I rolled. People perplexed by my roll started asking each other if druids can even use two-handed maces, when it was confirmed that druids can I got it since no one wanted it. Later that day one of noob guildies noticed me walking around proudly displaying my new two-handed mace and said, you need an enchant on it, I asked him what he recommended, he said, how about Crusader? It will make it glow cool! I was like, awesome! So there I was all proud of my first epic, unaware that it was useless to my spec and even if I was specced bear/cat for melee tank/dps the enchant was useless because in those days it would not proc in shapeshift form. Yep, those were the days... I still have that mace in a bag in my bank and every once in awhile I come across it and it brings a smile to my face!
Jul 21st 2011 2:15PM My Night Elf Death Knight CAN do the Thriller dance! He's undead isn't he?
Jul 19th 2011 4:30PM This is by far my favourite patch because it was the patch released the week my first toon hit 60 and I started raiding for the first time in ZG!
Jul 19th 2011 12:41PM Beware that contrary to Blizzards claim that starfall is not hitting CC. It is indeed hitting things CC'd by frost traps at least in Firelands.
