Breakfast Topic: How do you cope with muggles who don't "get" WoW? {WoW}

Jan 27th 2011 9:39AM If you can keep the voice chat clean, have him play with speakers for a bit so they can hear the rest of you. They will get the idea that he is co-ordinating with a bunch of other real people very quickly.
Have the Raid Leader or other officer address the family directly when they are in the room, speak to them like adults. It has worked for us.
PS: Keep it clean... the Mum in question makes us keep a swear jar now.

Raid Rx: 7 pet peeves of healers {WoW}

Jan 21st 2011 6:19PM Sit and eat you lazy f__k!.
Right after the last mob drops and you loot the corpse while I am ressing someone YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE STEALTHED. Use bandages or sit and eat your food.
Really, I run with good rogues and they almost never need topping up between pulls and they are more then ready for CC as soon as the Tank is ready. If you need topping up from the healer between pulls then you are not prepared.
This is not Wrath, if you are 50k health down that will be 4-5 efficient heals for you, then I need to sit and restore Mana, If the rest of the group has that attitude then it will be a minute between pulls just to get people topped off.

The Lawbringer: The dangers of addon auto-updaters {WoW}

Dec 11th 2010 4:10AM In reply to your assertions Hangk.
They have all happened in the past.
1, 2 and 3 all happened.
1. Once upon a time addons could be Self-Extracting Archives, and were not restricted to containing only .lua, .toc, .xml, .blp and .txt.
2. Hackers did indeed compromise the repository of the client and inject malicious code.
3. Flash is a painful security hole unless you make sure you keep it updated.
Flash vulnerability is not unique to the updaters, but it is a real threat.

The article is not particularly misleading... it may not be entirely clear enough to communicate it's message and indeed how it belongs in Lawbringer is also questionable, but it is not really misleading.

Totem Talk: Restoration week in review {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2010 7:53PM It's Bloodlust.
It will always be Bloodlust.
You can bathe it, make it smeel pretty and put it in a nice dress, but it will still be BLOODLUST.
Anything else is just denial.

Razer unveils special edition Naga MMO gaming mice {WoW}

Oct 6th 2010 10:35AM Did you follow the instructions on the Clique page on curse?
REMOVE ALL OS based keymapping and enable the gaming mouse features in WoW. If you do both of these then WoW can actually see all of the buttons on the mouse rather than have the driver make them pretend to be keyboard shortcuts.
By default the drivers make the extra buttons work like keyboard shortcuts.

The Lawbringer: 5 ways trade chat can get you in trouble {WoW}

Oct 1st 2010 8:25PM The simple answer is YES.
If you don't complain then Blizzard wont look at it.
Or more specifically, the GM department will look at it when they run out of tickets to service, until then, log a ticket.

The Lawbringer: 5 ways trade chat can get you in trouble {WoW}

Oct 1st 2010 8:17PM Unfortunately Blizzard will almost never monitor a trade channel. It is your responsibility to report the offenders, and if you and everyone else are thinking, "someone else will do that I don't need to" then they can continue to abuse your trade chat forever.
Report a problem, be explicit with the toon name, the channel and the language used.
Tell Blizzard you found it offensive and believe it violated ToS.
Ask them to help the player ascend the pyramid of punishment.
Press Send and go about your business knowing you have done your bit to clean out the trash.

Blizzard announces automated account recovery form for hacked accounts {WoW}

Sep 22nd 2010 10:26PM @GiGa
Your memory is not long enough.
Every Addon downloader I am aware of, at some point in the past, has been compromised by malware. That is not to say they are not clean now.
I don't use them so I can't speak to that, but tell me if any of them use Flash Ads?

The Lawbringer: Internet harassment and you {WoW}

Sep 10th 2010 11:16PM IANAL,
The instant someone makes a credible threat against your person you need to get the Law involved. In game harassment is one thing... but credible threats to kill you are serious business that causes things like warrants for IP addresses and server logs to be made.

"There is this guy who I think knows where I live and is threatening to kill me. Can you help?"

Around Azeroth Beta Edition: What is this I don't even {WoW}

Aug 31st 2010 6:50PM Awsomesauce.
This must be the new Alchemist Flying Mount.
Considering the amount of drugs you would need...
