Sep 11th 2010 2:52PM Should mention the change to Impact.
"Gives your damage spells a 10% chance to cause the next Fire Blast you cast to stun the target for 2 sec and spread any fire damage of time effects to nearby enemies within 12 yards."
Also forgot the mastery DoT from direct damage spells. So a Pyroblast crit will apply 3 DoTs by itself. Get those three, a Living Bomb up and Combustion them all together and hope for an Impact proc. Impact procs and you have all of that rolling on every enemy nearby. Could be a nice way to avoid the 3 target limitation of Living Bomb now.
Should also edit or add in the change to Arcane Explosion for arcane mages.
Sep 9th 2010 4:27PM oooh. I'm sorry I assumed you were talking about hit for elemental shaman in an article about elemtental itemization on shields.
Sep 9th 2010 4:17PM by that logic you could say that defense isn't really necessary. I agree that if you're out in the world killing snobolds, you don need 17% hit. but you need hit for pvp, dungeons, heroics, raiding, and it is useful for leveling.
I think it's safe to say that the majority of players partake in at least one of these activities. therefore, hit is a really good stat for everyone (besides icc raiding healers).
Sep 9th 2010 3:57PM yes, because a dual wielding melee and a caster value hit the same way...
1% hit is effectively a 1% damage increase until the cap. no other stat scales that well for casters.
Sep 9th 2010 3:21PM There have always been shields for elemental shaman. there was one out of naxx10 and 25 I believe, one from ulduar 10 and one from a hardmode 25 boss, one from champs in toc25, and now the one from icc25. they only itemized the ones from five mans and badges poorly because they want you to get into raiding and get those awesome shields.
mostly it sucks that elemental shaman make no use of mp5. at least as a Mage/warlock/boomkin/spriest you have some use for spirit whether it be spellpower or crit. perfect itemization for an elemental shaman is perfect itemization for every other caster.
Aug 18th 2010 12:17PM The 30% buff is the nerf to current content. It's not going to get any easier, nor can I imagine it being any easier.

I'd like to know what Blizzard classifies as utility. I'm not a rogue, at all. But this article kind of applies to everyone. I just don't find a talent that turns an interrupt into a silence a "fun and interesting choice." Unless they make bosses silence-albe, it won't really make a difference in pve. I want my choices to make a difference, not just be a means to get better talents.
