Jun 30th 2010 7:32AM I'm not saying my guild is casual. I'm saying we raid 12 hours a week and are pushing end game content. 12 hours is not hard to find during the week for anything. I have a job, go to school, help out my family, and I don't watch tv.
Jun 29th 2010 4:28PM theraptor is talking about guild raiding. everyone else is talking about pugging. extending the lockout in a casual guild is perfectly fine. yes, everyone should agree to it, but in a guild people shouldn't be so selfish that they'd put their own gear desires above guild progression. Unless your casual guild just formed two weeks ago, you won't still need gear from the first few bosses. there is plenty of loot to go around for everyone. no one should need badges (weekly and dailies and now the holiday). if you do need gear, then you shouldn't be worrying about wiping on a single boss over and over yet. get everyone their gear then focus on progression as best you can.
those of you wanting to see content in a pug, i say no. call me old fashioned, but you should not be able to kill the final boss with 9/24 random people from trade chat. besides, you should be finding a guild since cataclysm is going to ruin pugging (guild achievements, single lockouts, and more guild advancement options).
raiding isn't a timesink. my 9/12 HICC25 guild raids for 12 hours a week at the most (7% of the week). find a guild that fits your time best and make it work if you want to see content.
Jun 29th 2010 9:56AM LOL. Like they're going to stop putting loot piñatas in the game.
Jun 29th 2010 9:53AM As sad it is to say, I think they will continue to put tier on badge vendors. Badge farming has gone from optional to mandatory, even if you raided the previous tier of content. That's why people felt obligated to run both versions of ICC and different versions of ToC.
One of the worst decisions in the expansion, and I'm afraid it's going to get worse.
Jun 29th 2010 9:43AM you can finish a raid with a more casual schedule now. extend the lockout.
Jun 21st 2010 7:45PM ToC was where the real badge farm started, and I fell that's their biggest failure. they made emblem gear mandatory, rather than a filler piece for bad rng or gearing someone up who is behind.
people are saying that theydont like feeling as though they have to run both versions of the raid in order to stat competitive. instead of fixing why people feel they have to run both versions, they'd rather remove the ability.
the introduction of badge farming, for me, is the worst aspect of WotLK. they want people doing ludicrously easy dungeons that take ten minutes over and over again to catch up.
Jun 20th 2010 6:14PM don't:
cast PW:S when there's a disc priest in the raid. my grid shows the weakened soul debuff on everyone and nothing is more infuriating than seeing it pop up on people I haven't put it on. it's good to assume that if the disc priest is bubble spamming, they'll get to everyone eventually.
Jun 19th 2010 4:29PM He's just mad because he wants the 25 man gear even though he's in a 10 man guild.
Wowiezowie is right. The belt isn't optimal, but since when have 10 mans been about gearing optimally?
Jun 17th 2010 8:50PM it's not even difficulty, buy when the joke notion of server firsts, loot distribution, dkp, raiding schedules, and higher performance expectations become reformatted for 10 mans as well, then it'll get even less casual friendly.
