The Queue: I don't know {WoW}

Sep 13th 2011 11:23AM Question:

My father recently bought me a Blizzcon live stream ticket, so I could watch it at home. However, he bought it under his account name. In previous years, the code for the pet has been emailed to him, and I have used it to get Grunty and Deathy, but in this year's small print I saw something saying that his account would be automatically upgraded with the pet. Is this true? If so, is it possible to change the name with which the ticket is registered, or to get a refund and rebuy the ticket?

Thank you

I read some time ago that it was possible to buy a customised T-shirt with your guild crest printed on it. My guildy (and real-life friend) 's birthday is fast approaching, and I looked for such a shirt, but the only site I could find says that they no longer make them. Is there anywhere else I could order one?

And Ragnaros' voice actor is Chris Metzen. Be nice.

Perhaps you're looking at this the wrong way.

I see microtransactions as more of an "upgrade" to WoW. Like many things, you pay for access to WoW with a monthly subscription. Blizzard also offers access to new expansions or mounts / pets with a once-off payment.

Think of it like buying a new stereo for a car. You pay the monthly car tax, but pay an extra once-off for the stereo, which you can now access every time you use the car. If you stop paying for the car, you lose the ability to listen to the stereo, which only works in the car.

TL/DR: sparkly ponies "upgrade" your WoW account. You still have to pay normally, but you get an enhanced experience with them.

Nov 4th 2010 1:50PM I assumed that Steamwheedle rep was going altogether, and goblins would just be friendly, with no rep requirement.

Nov 4th 2010 1:15PM Question: I heard that goblin and bloodsail reps are being removed in Cataclysm. Is it worth getting to honoured with bloodsails and not grinding back up with the goblins - when Cata starts, I will be effectively neutral again?
