When was WoW not about money?

Oh, I forgot, Blizzard created the game out of the goodness of their heart. They wanted to offer it as a free service, but then those pesky execs stepped in and demanded they charge for it!

Fast travel, and why it's hard to find in MMO games {WoW}

Jul 1st 2009 11:30PM Ultima Online FTW! All these young wipper-snappers always talk about EQ. A lot of us old farts know about the awesomeness that was UO. :D

WoW has been the only MMO I've been able to play for more than a couple months, since my UO days.

Breakfast Topic: What keeps you hanging on? {WoW}

I feel the same way. I love my rogue and can't play any other character because of it. I've played since vanilla, raided 40 mans, PvP, etc. My rogue is still my only max level character. My highest alt is level 35 and has been since before BC. I have a ridiculous /played on my rogue, but I still can't imagine playing anything else.

It would take a lot to make me not enjoy the rogue class. I'll always be able to stealth around and stab things, no matter what changes are made. Long live the rogue!

That game already exists/existed. It's called Ultima Online. In its hayday, gear barely mattered... and it was fun as hell. Then EA got their hands on it... and we can all guess what happened then.

Unfortunately, we will probably never see an MMORPG that isn't heavily dependent on gear. Too many people just want new shiny gear and base their opinions of games on graphics, which usually results in degraded game play.

I know I'm in the minority, but graphics have always been the least important thing to me when it comes to how much I enjoy a game.

Jun 18th 2009 10:27PM Hell yea, UO! That game ruled until EA got their hands on it... :(

EQ was/is terrible.
