Apr 2nd 2012 2:54PM I still can't believe that article was edited. I am, quite literally, in shock.
We're caving in to bullies now? Apologizing to them, even?
I honestly don't know what's wrong with the world today, but one thing is certain, if we can't even stand up and fight for most vulnerable members of our society, then we might as well just give the Goons what they want and jump off the nearest bridge. I mean it.
A person could've died as the result of this guy's actions! Some of you, apparently, don't want to acknowledge that.
This goes way beyond our little "video games" and "internet spaceships". Forget about EVE for a second and think about the victim's mental health.
This is an adult topic with adult participants. Behave accordingly!

It doesn't help that this guy was supposed to be one of the duly elected representatives of the community.
He didn't just appear out of nowhere, he had the unconditional support of a *lot* of players.
In fact, I checked the official forums yesterday, and there were still hundreds of people there defending his actions and saying that "any publicity is good publicity" for EVE.
That leads me to believe that this kind of behavior extends far beyond a single immature individual, in a position of power.
When I played EVE, I always got the feeling that the community, at large, was nothing short of paranoid. In order to join a simple guild (corporation), I had to go through several job interviews and trial periods.
It was surreal, but I figured there must be some valid reason for that kind of behavior.
Well here it is. *This*, right here, is the reason!
Mar 28th 2012 7:23PM Good riddance!
It's people like him that keep me away from EVE. The sooner CCP distances itself from such individuals, the better.
Mar 23rd 2012 12:56PM Uh oh, I'm finding myself strangely... drawn to this expansion. What the hell is wrong with me?!
I'm a sandbox guy, for Elune's sake!
Maybe I'm getting tired of MMOs that are all about the "end of the world, as we know it" but this actually sounded like fun. I don't know, really.
Oh well, time to go flog myself...

Throw some flames in there and you've got the Cataclysm cover.
Mar 14th 2012 1:23AM @Kage25
I've always pronounced it "eese", no idea if it's right or not...
Mar 12th 2012 7:01PM I don't think I'll be buying DUST, even though I own a PS3.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great console and I plan on enjoying it for, at least, a couple more years.
It's just not my platform of choice when it comes to first-person-shooters (even those with keyboard/mouse support).

So, what you're saying is that you don't like to see other people question Blizzard's decisions.
Then you decide to come here and call those people -- most of them with valid complaints and fears, mind you -- haters.
No explanations given, just another blank (offensive) statement thrown into the mix.
Then, to top it all off, you post a video that tells us to "avoid being dicks about the things we don't like."
Oh, the irony...
Mar 8th 2012 9:51PM Now that Wakfu has been released, this has moved straight to the top of my watch-list. It just sounds incredible, really.
Also, (in my opinion) the game looks fine, but that UI definitely needs a lot of work...

I believe you are mistaken about the "+win" items in the boutique.
If you're talking about the Makabra weapons, from what I've seen and heard, they are basically just like WoW's heirlooms.*
Weapons that scale with your level and are there so you can play without having to worry about looking for an upgrade, every few levels.
In short, they save some time -- weapons for casuals, the exact same people who would buy the candies and such -- but I very much doubt that they will ever be better than, let's say, a level 100 weapon with actual bonuses to your preferred element(s) and stats.
I'm right there with you on the limited storage space, though.
Granted, you can add more slots to your private chest, but it's still not enough with so many professions...
*Official response from Ankama (International Forums):
"You added items with stats in your Boutique. Don’t you think that this will favor a specific category of players?
We wanted to add evolving equipment (weapons and rings), level 0 and providing no bonus on purchase, but progressing over time with the player wearing them.
These items are based on the same balance table as any other item in the game, meaning that a Makabra level 70 will not be more powerful than a Battlestick Galaktika of a similar level. There is no unbalance."
