Feb 1st 2012 2:56PM It's fun pretend that you are above it all, but the fact of the matter is that, like it or not, you are part of the society, and, therefore, down here with the rest of us. I'll give you the point that there are no "bad" words, but there are socially inappropriate words. What you are basically saying is that you are the sole judge of what is and isn't offensive, and that people can simply choose to not be offended. Unfortunately, there are very real pains and experiences that come with some of the words that you claim have no power. Personally, I'm more offended by intolerance than words, but I'm aware enough to know that certain language is inappropriate or harmful. Bottom line, language can show respect or it can show disregard for others, and pretending that you can magically step outside the social-cultural rhetoric is narcissistic at best and wildly irresponsible.
Jan 30th 2012 3:11PM Vanilla ZG was lousy with trash, If I had a dollar for every time someone came running in to where everyone was prepping for the next fight with a pack of trolls and crocodiles chasing them down... On a side note, runs only take 20 minutes now days? I just picked the game back up, and am leveling right now, but I remember Having to break MC up into 2 days because it took 4 hours, and that was without a wipe. Did you ever run LBRS and UBRS in one go? It took forever. If what I'm reading is right, though, everything is basically Vanilla Ony time-wise? This is great news.
Jan 26th 2012 3:02PM I started playing a couple of weeks ago after almost a 4 year break, and I can't believe how much the game has changed. I had a level 70 warrior tank, and I had no idea what to do with him (I couldn't remember where anything was). So I decided to just start fresh. All the zones have a familiarity to them, but I certainly notice the differences. What I notice most, though, is how little interaction there is between people. I know I'm not running around where most of the end game stuff is, but I rarely come across ANYONE. Everything costs an exorbitant amount of money on the AH, and guilds seem to be, mostly, a joke. I still like the game itself, but it seems like the changes they made broke the community. Now it feels like a bunch of individuals playing near each other rather than a group of people playing together.
Mar 25th 2009 10:56AM I'm fairly certain the economic crisis can be blamed on the global hops shortage. Grow more hops, brew better beer, and all will be well again.
