Aug 10th 2009 3:54PM It's not even just that the article lacks sources. It's more like--without sources, this article provides no new information at all. You may as well have written:
UPDATE: PEOPLE ARE STILL PRETTY CONVINCED ITS GONNA BE WORGEN AND GOBLINS.
May 31st 2009 7:00PM I disagree completely. RP without interest--give and take--from other people isn't RP, it's just "using your imagination." RP is inherently social, and social interactions require interest from at least one, but hopefully both, parties.
Apr 9th 2009 5:43PM Yes, it's been confirmed. There is no partial tracking: you must be honored with Bloodsail and exalted with Steamwheedle at the same time.
Here's a video:
I didn't make it, but we should thank the dude who did, despite how much I hate the truth the video presents...
Mar 31st 2009 12:53PM I've already ditched Engineering on one character, and I intend to do it on another (when he gets to 80). The unique buffs given by professions are quite quantifiable, and Engineering simply doesn't hold a candle to JC, Ench, LW, or BS.
All of these provide a ~67 spell power buff over not having the profession. (I use a caster stat because I'm a caster, but it's easily reconsidered for phys dps or tanking.) Engineering and Tailoring have a couple of not-very-competitive enchants. (Tailoring has the super-cheap self-only leg enchants, too, though.)
All they have to do is give Engineering a unique enchant that's about ~67 SP better than existing enchants, and it could be competitive. It wasn't hard to work out the logistics a of LW's Fur Linings, so what exactly is the problem here?
Mar 30th 2009 3:31AM I'm a hardcore PVE raider, and in moments of frustration, boredom, etc, I always want to just reroll on a RP server and play in character all the time...you know, walk everywhere, actually read the quest text, and take time to enjoy the game, learn the lore, develop a relationship with my imagination again, and so on. But, I'm pushing 6000 achievement points on my main, and it's just so hard to take a breather.
It feels like the next achievement/loot/bosskill/hardmode can't happen soon enough, and while I love the feeling of a plan coming together, and a solid group of players executing a kill perfectly, there are times I just want to throw in my hat and walk places.
Hats off to you RPers, I think it's great. Someday maybe I'll finally do it--or, rather, finally get that RP server mage up past level 6--but in the meantime, keep doing what you do, I really respect it!
RPing on vent, however, I'm not sure I could get into that! I've been around enough actors IRL to know that most people are terrible at it. :P And horde, no less! IMO, the only thing worse than gamers faking bad Scottish (dwarven) accents would be gamers faking bad Caribbean (troll) accents. ;)
But that's the name of the RP game, I guess: play it how you wanna!
