Jul 16th 2011 5:58PM You also forgot timing Dark Archangel so that the stacks come back before you have to reapply dots. Pretty simple, but just another thing to think of.
And potential raid saving Leap of Faiths
Using dispersion to tank a mob while a tank is being ressed is a good trick too if something goes wrong.
Not that i'm complaining, i love my spriest, but they can be hard work at times.
Jul 7th 2011 6:24AM Edit: ignore this then please. It was a response to some twattery. I then checked his posting history, and it's clear that he was not worth responding to. But then the post gets removed anyway. Go mods. :)
Jul 7th 2011 5:41AM I'm curious, why would someone post something like this? I mean it's too ineloquent to be a troll. If it's in earnest, why post, as making such a sweeping and demonstrably wrong generalisation just makes you look stupid. Perhaps your definition of "asshole" varies from the standard. Calling for a downvote is a transparent way to feel superior when people understandably reject you for spouting such silliness.
The seedy underbelly of twattery and asshattery in Wow is well known, and there have been a few unsavoury characters on this site as well, but i've found that if you stay level-headed and respectful, you find that most people are pretty decent.
So why did you post? A simple act of trolling to get a response? Did i just "fall" for it? To vent your anger over an issue? There's far better and healthier ways to do it.
Jul 7th 2011 5:04AM You might also want to try NeedToKnow, it can make tracking orbs, dots and buffs a bit easier.
Jul 6th 2011 7:15PM Cheers for the summary Fox.
May 10th 2011 4:32AM The point is that for many there isn't enough *fun* content. Many(dare i say most) want to log in and do some fun dungeons/raids with random friends of varying skill levels. With the new design this isn't really possible for a lot of people, so they're unsubscribing.
Mar 20th 2011 9:02AM I hate to directly contradict people, but it is my opinion that current heroics are not unbelievably hard. They sure are challenging in places, and have a far higher failure rate than in Wrath, but they are far from impossible. I still pug as a dps, and i have a successful run most of the time. Sure, i am a raider, and i can pump out enough dps to compensate for some weakness in my pug team-mates, but 1 player does not make a party and most of the time my superior gear doesn't turn a wipe into a kill. Sometimes it does, sure, but in those situations i'm happy to be able to boost those who haven't had the time/inclination/opportunities to gear up as i have. I don't claim to be an amazing player. I'm solid, but i still make mistakes. And those heroics were still doable on week one, when almost everyone had 326 ilevel and was seeing the content for the 1st time.
If things aren't working for you, then try other means to gear up. Depending on your class, there are usually a few crafted epics available at reasonable prices, and repping up is a good way to get some progression gear. With the luck of the draw buff even weaker players can easily hit the dps/healing needed to get through a heroic, and often all a pug needs is a few words of encouragement and guidance to get through. If pugging's a nightmare, find a guild that runs 5 mans, or even raids casually. Most casual raid guilds have a large number of people who only do 5-mans or don't even do endgame, but hang around for the fun with friends.
As for the point about the 2nd tier of dungeons, I wouldn't worry too much about that either as A: most raiders will have VP from raiding, so won't necessarily have to spam ones with higher VP rewards B:won't need the gear, most raiders i know have most slots epicced C:the new ones look hard, so if i'm going to pug, then i'm going to pug an easier one. If I'm going to Zul-wherever, then it'll be a guild run, where i know that we'll do our best, rather than having someone tantrum out after 10 minutes.
I wouldn't be so quick to stratify "casuals" and "raiders" anyway. Most people play with their spouses, siblings and friends, and the skill gap can be huge in those groups but they still play together. It's not "us versus them" for most people.
Mar 20th 2011 6:25AM This is addressing non-raiders. The valor cap has been doubled if you don't step into raids, and 2 5-mans with epic drops are being added. You will now be able to max out your VP gear much faster than previously, and fill slots with troll epics. Sounds pretty competitive.
What are you complaining about? That you can't get the best gear without raiding?!
Mar 14th 2011 12:36PM Splendid, if unfortunate, story. Bonus points for teaching me a new word: Garrulous.
Feb 28th 2011 2:01PM This news pleases me.
