Aug 27th 2009 1:07PM I've never had any problems. Now I have all the professions maxed out so there's no real need for me to ask for a crafter, except for a few gem cuts, but I do craft a lot of stuff for others. When people are too scared/nervous, I just trade them gold for their mats, then ask for the gold back once I trade the item. Usually they'll give a higher tip, and it's safe for the both of us. Speaking of tips, crafting has become almost useless on my server, people are still tipping 2-3G / epic gem cut or epic craft. I consider myself lucky if I make 10g, and it's usually when I'm the one who has to travel.

The end of vanilla WoW {WoW}

May 5th 2009 12:10PM Not sure if it's been mentionned, but as someone who enjoys crafting, it would really kill the market if everyone were 80 and could level a profession to 450 without any effort. There are so many JC Death Knights on my server it killed the whole JC business.

If you don't want to respec, don't. If your guild doesn't have enough people so that you always need to do everything yourself, find a better guild. Your "every time a paladin needs to respec" downtime is something that pretty much never happens if you have a good guild or good enough people. And to be honest, as an affliction warlock, a 10 minutes downtime is pretty good for my eyes. And yeah you're pwning ACTUAL CONTENT with hybrid classes with dual specs. Hell, even leveling will be even more easier for you guys.

With paladins/druids + dual specs, I see no reason to play a focused DPS class anymore. Give me one.

Mar 31st 2009 1:42PM I agree with shadowhaxor. Of course the paladins will want all specs. We've got way too many paladins in raids as it is. With triple specs there would be no point for other classes. My main is a warlock, I DPS, even with 45 different specs, I'll still DPS. Why pick a Warlock for a raid when you can pick a paladin that'll OT for a boss, DPS for trash, heal for the other boss, etc., without any downtime? Same for rogues, mages, hunters. It feels like Blizzard only wants Paladins and Druids now, and that's all I see in raids lately, even without dual-specs. People are always surprised when I join (woah a lock, haven't seen that in a while).

I liked the current system with 1 spec because most people were too lazy to switch specs or to learn other specs, so at least most paladins only picked one spec, and sucked at the rest. It's one of those things that I think work for PVP/PVE since yeah it would be useful to switch to PVP when WG starts then back to PVE for VoA and other raids. But what will happen is you'll get even more hybrid classes, and even more paladins QQ all the time, and PUGs will be a pain.

And how will you roll loot if all paladins are DPS/Tank/Heal? Main spec? Main spec starting when, before the 1st encounter, after the 4th respec of the instance, when?

The state of Engineering in 3.1 {WoW}

Mar 31st 2009 1:14PM To Daniel. Your point doesn't work or you've never really been a miner. Mining adamantite is easy, it's almost everywhere in outlands and you can use a flying mount, something that's hard to live without when you've tried it.

Thorium can only be found in a few zones in old WoW and you have to use your normal mount which is a pain. And let's face it, you level a lot faster from 48 to 58 than 58 to 68, so you'll spend less time in old WoW (where thorium is) and there's no point staying there once you can go to outlands, so the window of opportunity to mine thorium/truesilver/etc. is a lot smaller. You can't really blame that on blizzard since I doubt they'll either allow flying mounts in old world and no one wants a longer grind from 48 to 58, so you're stuck with those prices.

As for the epic prices, I guess it depends on your server. On mine, the mats are selling for more than the epics I can craft on my BS/JC/Tailor/Engineer (got a lot of alts). The cooldown on titansteel should've been much longer because those bars went from 450g to 80g in no time, and stuff like titansteel destroyers sell for around 800g.

Anyway, long story short, you got it all wrong with your rant about economics. As for me, I like engineering a lot, even if we don't get enough changes. I love my mote extractor, my repair bots are a huge time saver on progression raids, and I still sport my googles + hands enchant. Oh and when I'm in a hurry, that mailbox is pretty cool (though the CD should be shorter) and those teleports are useful when guildies need help (though we' d need more portals).

I'm keeping engineering for sure, and hopefully we'll get more stuff in 3.2 : )
