Jan 13th 2010 3:37PM Guild Watch's Drama section was the only gossipy thing i indulged in, and while i'd be cheered by the occasional featured guild event or unusual achievement, i'd skim right over progression lists, downings and recruitment; there's definitely a place for positive thinking, but a venue for constructive venting is equally important. Schramm always seemed to tread that line between objective reporting and light-hearted mocking.
i do like the addition of the gold-star pugger shoutouts, but i'd be content with that and the Drama as a separate column -- the good, bad and weird, as it were. the research heading is also interesting, and fits well with the new theme.
Jan 13th 2010 3:19PM "Nevermelting Ice Crystal
Equip: Increases spell power by 111.
Use: Increases your critical strike rating by [184 * 71564u] for 20 sec. Every time one of your non-periodic spells deals a critical strike, the bonus is reduced by 184 critical strike rating. (3 Min Cooldown)"
this is a good thing that our dots aren't affected -- since the crit rating will only reduce with non-periodic crits, and the chance to crit still affects them. so the dots maintain a high chance to crit, which only reduces when MB crits. think of how this impacts SW:P...
Jan 13th 2010 3:11PM i don't know what you're talking about.
shadow has -always- been cool.
Jan 13th 2010 2:53PM shadowpriest.com *cough*
any hit over your 17% cap (289 for Horde, 263 for Alliance with access to a Draenei) is a waste of stats; it doesn't do you any good above that point.
you want to have at the very least 360 (with shammy totem) or 400 haste, to fit 2 full Mind Flays into a fully-talented, 5.5 second Mind Blast cooldown. the only limit is at 1640 haste, which puts the global cooldown at 1 second, which cannot be reduced further.

Dec 18th 2009 2:30PM @Jen:
happens on my server, too. had some creepster try to cyber with me after i told him that i had no interest in doing so, ever, with anyone. said my name was sexy, which it decidedly isn't. i'm still not sure if he was messing with my head, or completely deluded -- in any case, i don't want to deal with either possibility.
there are the more benign cases: when trade is excessively bitching about women like we don't exist, or talking trash about homosexuals. i'll make some wry comment when i've hit my bullshit limit, and normally, i'll immediately receive a tell or two asking if i'm a "girl" -- at 27, i'm not girlish so much, but try to get the difference across and it seems to be interpreted as "i'm all woman, ooh baby." but being female is apparently enough to warrant an entire conversation to these particular guys.
i can only guess it's a matter of perception; women know there are always men available for conversation (or at least that's the assumption), so it's not a novelty. we're also wary of getting mobbed simply for being female, so we let relatively few people know about it. as a result, it seems like there are very few to no women playing (not even WoW-specific), and the cycle repeats until dudes CHILL THE FUCK OUT. the cool chicks are the ones who crack jokes about being female and are just generally non-drama, not the ones saying," OMG LOLZ BEWBS can i have gold plz? /giggle." okay, they might say that, but if they're serious about it, avoid like the plague. we's human beans, too -- treat us like one instead of a goddess on a pedestal, a science experiment or a pin-up.
Dec 18th 2009 2:05PM no love for us Undead ladies? :,(
Dec 14th 2009 8:53AM i have no idea what server you're on, so we may never play together; in any case, thank you. what a wonderful, community-minded attitude.
