May 19th 2009 11:20AM Guess now we'll find out for sure if the WG changes are going to have the effects they're hoping for...I for one think that despite the change, there will be plenty of PVPers that'll be in there for the easy Honor kills if the population keeps up.
Still, can't help but feel bad for the Warriors on that slam with the nerf bat.

May 8th 2009 2:00PM @Karilyn: Try working in an actual business environment with only one mouse, I dare you. You say you worked in tech support...and I'm using that in past tense, because there's no way you'd survive in today's field with that kind of mentality.
"Simply put, a two button mouse is crap. It's more buttons than you need for "common computer use" and not enough buttons for gaming."
Good luck with not having context menus within databases, scrolling through 2,000 line spreadsheets quickly, or browsing web pages for research, and be productive with a single-button mouse.
As it was mentioned, two buttons plus a scroll-wheel is what would be considered minimum at my place of employment, but we have a standard 5-button mouse on just about every user's desk regardless due to their availability.
You are only correct on one of your three facts. Yes, computers are used moreso for business-related functions than gaming. The other two are completely off base and incorrect (the 'multi-button' one I addressed; the other, depending on your playstyle, a two-button mouse could suffice...not mine, but some people make due).
Oh, and for reference, I've been a Senior Security Administrator at my company for the past 2 years, and prior to that was the Desktop Projects technician (read: the guy who rebuilds broken PCs) for 4. Not that it matters though, because even my most "special" of users I support would hyperventilate if they didn't have the two-button mouse (or Roller-ball depending on their ergonomic needs of course...).
Oh, and one last thing....Microsoft never focused on getting into the hardware business. They wanted to release a kick-ass operating system (DOS, OS/2, etc.), which is why they teamed up with IBM to use their hardware (hence the term 'IBM Clone' back in the early 90s).
Also, Apple never owned the patents to the computer mouse, Xerox did. Your only connection there is that Apple visited Xerox's R&D Department and reverse-engineered the GUI that would later become Apple Lisa, which used the code that controlled the mouse icon.
Get your history facts straight, and until then get the hell out of my profession.
Apr 27th 2009 11:06AM I for one thoroughly enjoyed getting my Bank Alt all sexified, despite it taking a full 50 eggs to get (probably the most logged in time I've been on her since I made her!).
But, after all the hard work, I've got a female BElf DK that is decked out with a Spring Circlet, Tuxedo Jacket, White Tuxedo Shirt, Black Mageweave Leggings, and Heavy Weave Shoes (since there's no good heel-type shoes in-game that I've found yet, lol).
Funny enough (or sad enough), within 15 seconds of parking her in front of the mailbox in Org, had about 3-4 male avatars PM me. Ah well, sometimes half the fun is just messing with people I guess!
Apr 16th 2009 10:24AM Or...Superman II...you know, where the phrase originally came from?
Apr 15th 2009 1:55PM Probably to go get his shotgun to take out all the whiners who don't know how a system this complex takes longer than people think. Sure, Blizzard needs to learn to just flat-out say "down for 24 hours" to have everything completely up and running smoothly, but there's such a huge pressure to keep things going above 99.5% uptime, it's ridiculous...

Apr 14th 2009 8:12AM Here's to hoping for a good read! Oh, and the Quebec thing never gets old, if they'd only cooperate (former resident of Quebec here)...
Apr 10th 2009 12:27PM I went the popular route of using my DK as my bank alt. I'm not too fond of the class itself (it's okay, but not my playstyle), but with it being 58 by the time you can make it to a bank, only 2 levels and you can max out DE/JC, which are the two professions I find the most handy on a bank alt!
Apr 8th 2009 2:31PM Kinda hand-in-hand with this comment, you should do research on your class as well as far as HOW to level the class as well. I only say this because leveling a Priest outside of Shadow can be a royal pain until you get higher up in levels (same can be said for Prot Warriors and Prot Pallies). This is because they are designed to be solo builds instead of support/tank builds, whose key goal is NOT to kill the enemy as quickly as possible as any other DPS class has.
