Jun 12th 2009 1:57AM Question: Do all active guilds eventually fall apart/split up from drama and discontent, or do some actually remain fairly cohesive throughout the years?
Jun 9th 2009 1:34PM Do any other self-described casual players find themselves feeling a bit like the odd one out in the game? I was completely happy with my playstyle until I hit 80. I loved exploring, slow-falling off the highest places I could find, acquiring new tailoring recipes, and dancing around in Org. My guild was happy to let me do whatever I wanted, and I helped out people in whatever way I could.
Then I hit 80 and they discovered I had never done a dungeon. Thus began my foray into heroics, and even a venture or two into Naxx. I was just starting to get comfortable when the guild started having issues of its own, and rather than trying to figure it all out, I went back to solo-play.
But it wasn't the same. I feel like I'm a casual player who had a taste of the non-casual's life, and I'm left wanting neither. It seems like there's this point that a player reaches where you have to decide if you want to commit and actively pursue gear, research loot and bosses and strats, and download more addons than you know what to do with. Or ... you go back to the "casual" life. Which suddenly seems a lot more empty after having a taste of something more.
Are there any other casual players who aren't sure what their place in the game is?
Jun 2nd 2009 11:55AM Totally agree. I'm on a PvE realm, and had never done any PvP on my main. I wandered into a BG by mistake on an alt (luckily a pally) and had no clue what I was doing. 3000+ kills later, I love BGs because they're relatively stress free. Aside from the occasional hardcores in them, everyone's in a BG just to kill the enemy and have a good time. Some of the people that are the most fun to group with are the ones lower on the charts, honestly.
I haven't gone anywhere near arena because of the rating factor, and I'd hate to see BGs go in the same direction.
Apr 26th 2009 3:16PM That's very helpful, especially since I didn't know it was possible to PvP effectively as arcane. Thanks for the advice!
Apr 26th 2009 9:18AM It's good to know the frostsavage set isn't completely worthless, but I hope you do a future PvP column where you touch on something besides gear. I levelled up as fire and have never done PvP (other than killing Alliance that are in our cities) and I'm not sure where to start. I know I need to go frost, but I don't have the first clue about how to play a frost mage, especially in PvP.
I do appreciate the column though, because I wondered if I was completely alone and it was too late for me to try PvP. I'm at least slightly encouraged now!
Apr 20th 2009 3:54PM As a business owner who has been solicited by the BBB, I really don't know why anyone would rely on their ratings. Don't they get financial support from accredited businesses?
Apr 18th 2009 8:16PM Thanks for that. I'm tailoring/skinning and I've been toying around with the idea of dropping skinning for awhile now. I was getting fed up with tailoring, and also quite envious of jewelcrafting once I realized how awesome it is.
I think it's time to drop skinning, pick up jewelcrafting and put my poor level 30 alt to work on mining.
