The Queue: BlizzCon expectations {WoW}

Oct 7th 2010 7:33AM Naaaaaah, Michael is all shade of cool, but mostly because he brings contrast to Harry and his "gray" world. THerefore, Michael Carpenter on his own wouldn't be best.

Now if you want something just this side of godhood: Murph. Quest giver/Support NPC.

For all you Dresden fan: you probably remember the quests in Naxxanar in Borean Tundra against the Sal'ayn (vampire elves). How 'bout the same quest, but with two NPCs as escort/support:

Lieutenant Karen Murphy and Jared

Sep 16th 2010 2:38AM @Bryan:

It SEEMS (not in the Beta, based on theck and Anafielle's posts) that our Avenger Shield is currently hitting like a nuclear truck on steroids, even BEFORE the glyph, and might become our #1 priority threat-wise.

I'll add to that that Blizzard had stated that people shouldn't be AoEing like stupid, I'm assuming that a DPS shouldn't be able to out-aggro you on your main target, and should they aggro another mob, they deserve a mighty slap in the face, courtesy of the aggroed mob.

Make me think (rant time) that i've currently seen more than a couple DPSers that grabbed *something* and then went crazy on it, preferably something no-one else dpsed. I mean GODS, is it too much to ask to help the tank as well?

Breakfast Topic: How far did you expect to take WoW? {WoW}

Sep 2nd 2010 9:07AM Similar experience: me and my SO reached lvl 70 on our hunter/rogue team (which was a re-try of a hunter/rogue combo that we gave up on at around lvl 40 (back in vanilla) and realized "ok, now what?". We knew we were more PvE-oriented, and realised that we'd have a hell of a time finding a group for 5-mans, let alone raids. Besides, most guild on the server had raid nights in the week, something we couldn't afford.

Our idea? We made up a priest and pally we leveled AGAIN to 70 (in half the time), luckily stumbled on another playder intending to make a weekend-only raiding guild, and went on our merry way!

Aug 23rd 2010 2:35AM Okay, I think we need to get a thing straight here:

The purpose of my post was not to bash Garrosh's characterisation: to quote some Jedi Master, it makes sense, "from a certain point of view". The very fact that Garrosh hasn't been utterly ignored by the fanbase is testament that despite his situation (more on that below), he is an enjoyable character, and an understable one. See many of the replies above if you doubt me.

What I had been pointing at, is the manner in which this characterisation was shown to the player: we have to stop and think about Garrosh to make sense of him. It's a somewhat split situation: on the one hand, it opens up an opportunity of an "ahah!" moment, reminding us that the emo teen is still somewhere inside the burly leader. The risk is that we cannot accept a natural evolution from BC to WotLK to Cataclysm, resulting in what a TV Troper would call an "Ass Pull" (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AssPull - muwhahaha your day has now been RUINED, RUIIIIIIIIIINED!)

To play it short, I believe Garrosh has had too little screentime during WotLK, and it is urgent that he gets proper characterisation. Not necesarily being shown as kick-ass awesome, or not even necessarily RIGHT about his attitudes, but that we at least get to a look at his tought process, so that he may show without question that he is more than an hulking brute. I have seen certain spoilers (Stonetalon comes to mind), and this is definitly how he should be shown.

Aug 9th 2010 8:26AM Hell YEAH! (Copy paste that on your text editor, Size 120 and bright red, and you'll get a rough idea)

I've only been in that game for two years, and I've learned that *ANY* guild leader that lasted more than a couple of months is worth your respect. When they talk about herding cats - they MEAN it.

Breakfast Topic: Real ID or Real bad IDea? {WoW}

Jul 7th 2010 8:16AM Zach,

could you add an "undecided" option? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the potential, and don't feel knowledgable enough to choose yes or no yet.

Thanks!

Jun 8th 2010 1:49AM If I were Warchief, I'd say we focus on high priorities FIRST -

Let us reform the femeale uniform! Black mageweave for casters, Warrior's Embrace and Elemental Rockridge Leggings for the fighters!

For a better tomorrow!

Jun 2nd 2010 9:16AM I can't help but go check whenever Brazie Gets pops in ICC.

One day, those books WILL be there! DAMMIT! Or maybe the toy? please? :'-(

The Light and How to Swing It: Gearing a new holy paladin at 80, part 1 {WoW}

May 17th 2010 3:14AM For the record, should you be a Jewelcrafter, grab the sapphire owl faster than possible.

It's relatively cheap, and has an INSANE amount of Intellect, two gems slots, and a decent on use to seal the deal.

Apr 27th 2010 8:49AM I am the lucid dream...
The monster in your nightmares...

COWER BEFORE MY TRUE FORM!

BOW DOWN BEFORE THE GOD OF DEATH!

Altough, yeah. Something that would have been cool is one big-ass *thing* shattering stuff as it's only *coming* to kick your derrière. Sindra could have done it, but she had to make a rather simple entrance. Imagine her blacony, again, but with her nowhere to be found. You kick Rimefang's butt, and you her thunderous screams:

"YOU DARE? MY CHILDREN!"

Cue dramatic explosion of a piece of the rooftop as she drops down and engages.

"YOU! WILL! DIE!"
