Breakfast Topic: Do you like PvP? {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 2:08PM Why I love PVP?
As a Druid I like action that allows me to use all the tools of the Druid trade, and PVP is exactly the means to allow it.
In Alterac Valley, Alliance was faced with defeat, horde had two towers down, two more about to cap and the graveyard at Vann was close to providing a place for them to res if they wiped. I stealthed in to DB bunker north and ninja'ed the flag, again in DB bunker south, then I sprinted to the DB graveyard flag and retook it, all while the Horde were waiting, then attacking Vann.
I stealthed in to the stronghold and saw the horde tank on Vann, I targeted him and used Cyclone, with two Marshals up and the tank 'banished', Vann took out the Horde party very quickly, by the time the tank was released his healers and DPS were dead... they res'd all the way back at Iceblood graveyard, halfway across the battleground and far from Vann.
Had those two bunkers burned and the graveyard capped, horde would have no Marshals adds to face and wiping would have delayed them for no more than a minute or two.

In the meantime... Alliance capped/burned two more towers before Horde could recoup and return for another try and we won the battle.

A battleground allows you to become the hero, the guy who saved the day... even though few in that BG knew what I did, or cared, we won because I used the tools of the Druid to stop almost 30 players dead in their tracks with one simple spell and some sneaky ninja tricks.
There is No 'rush' like this in PVE raiding, nothing that can compare to the feeling I had after that win... and many others like it!

5 stupid-awesome uses for a Potion of Illusion {WoW}

Mar 28th 2012 5:02PM I call this pot the "Steal Your Face" potion... after the Grateful Dead's logo.

Been stealing faces for ages, great fun!

Limited edition Arthas statue available for preorder from Sideshow Collectibles {WoW}

Mar 10th 2012 8:04PM I meant to say... 500-1000 pieces.

Limited edition Arthas statue available for preorder from Sideshow Collectibles {WoW}

Mar 10th 2012 8:02PM This will be a very limited release, there will be no "premium" format, meaning the statue will be limited to one version, one run. Typically Sideshow produces about 500-100 pieces, so value can skyrocket on the secondary market... or not.

I'd only buy this if you like it and want it, I don't know that I'd speculate on ebay resale value, cause if it stays at or below what you paid, $350 bucks is a lot for doorstop.

Sideshow makes some of the finest pop culture figures/statues in the world, they will do WoW right.

Hi, remember me? I've been here since 2004 {WoW}

Mar 10th 2012 11:20AM Speaking of spending on Warcraft stuff aside from the subscription... head on over to SideShow Collectibles and check out the HUGE statue of Arthas that was announce yesterday.
I have friends that never played WoW that are drooling over it... but at $349.99, you better have a job other than dailys in Tol Barad.

Does WoW need more minigames? {WoW}

Mar 10th 2012 11:09AM If a person wanted to play 'mini-games' there are 100's, maybe thousands of them released in the past year, what thinking is there that says... I bought an MMORPG, but I really wanted to play Farmville?
If Blizzard wants to go in the business of browser games / mini-games I say sure, go for it... but if they want to spend my subscription money on them when I bought a MMORPG, I think it's a misplaced development effort.
The current mini-games served a purpose Blizzard set out long ago, pop culture references, so "Joust" and the sunflower thing were a discovery smile, but to start a new trend? Bad idea IMHO.

Daxxarri clarifies PvP and PvE gear changes in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 6:45PM I like this idea, I see way too many players running bots or hiding in BG's, they should not be rewarded with gear that allows them access to content that requires PVE gear.

A bot or a hiding cheat does not gain anything by receiving gear that only serves to allow fighting other players.

Breakfast Topic: Is "For the Horde" obsolete? {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 8:24AM Are Twinkies obsolete?!

What are multiboxers and how do you fight one in PvP? {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 8:09AM This is Blizzards shameful bow to those who bribe with real dollars to ignore the rights of other players... let me explain.

A player with 4,5 or more toons as a 'multi-boxer' becomes a virtual battleship... take a mild example, a Boomkin(s) that can focus 5 Moonfires (or 5 Starfires) can one-shot an average player or leave him him 20 steps before he burns up. This means a boxer can Tab, fire, kill... tab, fire, kill etc just like a battleship with huge guns.
4-5 players could/would Never focus fire simultaneously on single target with such
effect, so the boxer has a Huge advantage.

Shammys.. forget it, you are lucky to see them before you are one-shotted, and I could give examples of boxers that are so powerful that one team of them can completely alter/control a BG... is that fair? For one player to have so much influence?

Blizzard thinks this is okay, and maybe some of you have reasons you think giving a player a virtual battleship is a okay, but leaving normal players at the mercy of some creep with too much cash and a Twink mentality that can roll over the best of players with brute force is Wrong.

If I see a boxer team in a BG, I leave... I will not become a snicker on the face of a loser who uses unfair practices to win... I don't care if Blizzard says it's okay, they make money on it, they don't give a damn about the guy who plays fair.

This will always be a black eye on Blizzard, and it says volumes of the true nature of the people who run it.
