The Daily Grind: Would you pay extra for a filtered community? {Massively}

Mar 29th 2012 8:58AM It would depend on how the filtering was done. But just having separate servers would not really work since some of the people you would want to get away form would still roll on them.

Generally I think it works out relatively well now with the in game social structures as well as in game rule enforcement to make sure that things don't go out of line. Without both you generally have problems.

Why I Play: EVE Online {Massively}

Mar 28th 2012 12:16PM I've tried EVE a few times, and I'm generally interested in things they add, but I've never been interested enough to actually really start playing. I don't mind the game play, I don't mind the real time stuff, but I don't find any of that compelling game play. It just has never held my interest in any real way like other games have as a roleplayer even with their more restrictive worlds.

The Daily Grind: What game would you play were it not for the community? {Massively}

Mar 27th 2012 8:42AM Can't really think of one. Every gaming community has it's problems, but those all tend to be the minority of the total community. You just hear about them more because they are much more vocal/do attention grabbing things while the better parts tend to just do what they do.

The Daily Grind: Would you buy a system for one game? {Massively}

Mar 22nd 2012 9:03AM Not really. I've got various versions of the XBox for Halo, but it was never the only reason I got one, since I did get other games for them (and the 360 was during my Mac years so it was the only way to play video games easily).

Would I? Just for one game, no. It would depend on what other games the system offered that I would be interested in because none are worth the price of one game.

The Daily Grind: Do exclusive in-game event items annoy you? {Massively}

Mar 15th 2012 9:06AM Doesn't really bother me at all when it's just cosmetic things, like mounts, companion pets, some appearance item, etc. If it's something that affects game play, I'd probably be more bothered.

The Soapbox: The inevitable Mass Effect MMO {Massively}

Mar 13th 2012 12:34PM I would love an ME MMO, but that would require something added to the end of ME3 to explain things. I'll leave it at that.

I will also say that if they do make an ME MMO, I would not play it unless it happens to use the same type of mechanics as the current game. SWTOR's mechanics are pretty close to those used in KOTOR as far as combat goes. I would want a ME MMO to use the same mechanics that that the ME games used, which is much more shooter based. So as much as I would like an ME MMO, if they use SWTOR mechanics it's just not going to work.

Star Wars: The Old Republic subscription numbers stabilize at 1.7 million {Massively}

Mar 9th 2012 2:48PM Good to see it's doing well so far. I know I'm enjoying it (and would be playing it more if Mass Effect 3 had not temporarily grabbed my interest) and it's nice to see that it's doing well.

The Daily Grind: What game would you play if it had an alternate gameplay server? {Massively}

Mar 9th 2012 9:25AM EVE without the large focus PvP. Really not sure what the game would look like at that point though.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm post-mortem reflects on success, failure, and lessons learned {Massively}

Mar 8th 2012 2:19PM I skimmed it before. From what I recall, most of the things they said they did good I didn't agree with.

GDC 2012: CCP talks DUST 514 PC possibilities and World of Darkness development {Massively}

Mar 8th 2012 9:26AM I'll probably check DUST out if/when it comes to PC. Otherwise, my interest in it is purely academic because I have no plans on buying a PS3 anytime soon.
