Oct 16th 2009 11:23AM Do not replace Pengu's red eyes. Please, please, please. They're what makes him unique and lovable. The contented look, the round stomach, the feather fluffing and head shaking and slightly vacant smile... and all the time you're expecting the demon to pop out. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm still hoping :-)
Mr. Chilly is not at all the same pet. Mr. Chilly is smaller, differently colored and has blue eyes. All in all he's a Pengu made over to become a child's teddybear. Sweet and adorable and all, but not Pengu.
Sep 17th 2009 4:20PM "Falling down" - In your haste to grab that titanium node on top of a mountain you dismount next to the mountain and fall to your death.
"I'm cool, calm and collected" - Getting "Falling down" despite the fact that you're a paladin with your bubble off countdown.
"Money... what money?" - Having spent 1k g on repairs caused by "Falling down" and "I'm cool, calm and collected"
I'd get server first on all of them...
Sep 17th 2009 4:11PM Oh, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one. I think the people I game with most have macros to tell me I'm still wearing the hat and fishing pole.
Sep 16th 2009 4:30PM So many moments of epicness:
- seeing Stormwind for the first time, running through that HUGE city to the Deeprun Tram, going to Ironforge and running out of the gates to a landscape so completely different from Elwynn Forest. That was the first time I got an idea of how big the world of WOW is.
- finding a dirt-cheap white kitten on auction house, buying it and then - in a moment of complete thoughtlessness - learning it on my banking alt instead of sending to my pet collecting main. When I finished shouting at myself I logged on to my main and went to Stormwind to do the daily Shattrath fishing quest - and ran into Little Timmy. I didn't believe my own eyes. To this day my banking alt summons the kitten each and every time I'm logged on to her just to remind me.
- going into a mine somewhere to kill an evilness. Everything was killed already, so I just ran through. Just before the evilness I overtook the guy who had killed everything - an horde rogue (I'm alliance) - he was fighting the last trash mobs. Nice person that I am I helped him kill the trash and waited until he had tagged the evilness, then helped him kill it. As he ran out I settled down to wait for it to respawn and suddenly the rogue was back. He pointed at the evilness corpse and I nodded. We danced while waiting for the evilness to spawn and when it did I tagged it and he helped me kill it. We hugged and went our separate ways.
I could go on... and on... and on...
Sep 11th 2009 4:16AM For Blizzard to spend time on making the Explorer-title easier to get would be frankly stupid and a complete waste of time. It's already one of the easiest titles and achievements in the game, it takes no skill at all to get it and it doesn't even have to be extremely timeconsuming if you just take small detours every time you're in an area that hasn't been fully explored. I got it by allways checking what's around the next corner when questing and then filling in the blanks when doing the Midsummer Festival honoring and desecrating. 2 or 3 times I had to look a particularly small nook up on wowwiki, otherwise I got on easily by checking the ingame map and using the list of areas needed to be explored in the achievement list. No problem at all.
Besides: the words "explorer" and "achievement" have meanings you know... and neither of them means "being served on a plate".
(I hope that sentence makes sense in english - it makes perfect sense in my own language).
Sep 5th 2009 12:02PM Like so many others my true love is the first toon I created. I have alts, but my human retribution paladin will always be my main.
Funny thing is - now that I think about it - she's a character I've been playing practically since I got my hands on a RPG the first time. Baldur's Gate (ahhh, those were the days...), Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, I've always chosen female paladins. My main gripe with Diablo II was that the only options as paladin was male and the only option as female in the original game was the scantily clad sorceress (not that she wasn't fun to play). I've played all of those games several times with different characters, but the human female paladin is the only one that feels exactly right to me.
Even funnier is that IRL I'm an atheist.
Sep 2nd 2009 10:52AM I'm on a EU server that had the extended maintenance weeks ago. That same evening we still had "additional instances cannot be launched"-problems. The next day we had a shorter maintenance and since then there have been no problems launching instances. Hopefully the same thing will happen on the servers that had extended maintenance yesterday.
Jul 31st 2009 9:19AM I'm don't really understand why someone devoting an hour a week to the game should be able to reap the same reward as someone devoting an hour a day. I can fully understand the frustration of the people who would LIKE to game more but for one reason or the other cannot, but that is really not a problem Blizzard should be called on to solve. In WOW, as in real life, the more time you spend on something, the better you get and the more you get back from it.
Because of this I think that weeklies would have to take a lot longer and/or be more complicated than the present dailies to justify the larger reward. I'm sure that would suit some people, but it wouldn't really suit me. I can easily find the time every day to log on and doing my regular dailies. They are fast and easy and I can do them almost in my sleep. Some people say it's a boring grind, I find it relaxing.
So basically: yeah, ok to weeklies. But give us a choice between dailies and weeklies and DO NOT make fools of those of us who devote time to this game. Giving the same reward for a short, easy weekly quest as for 7 short, easy dailies would not make sense. It would be like giving 7 badges for one Violet Hold run, but locking VH for that toon for the rest of the week.
Jul 28th 2009 9:20AM Guapa -
That is so true. I wish I knew you IRL.
Jul 28th 2009 9:05AM I doubt they'll ever drop to a price I'll pay. I've just spent 12.5K on the chopper (have engineering and could build it myself) and I'm considering the 18K huge mammoth from Mei Francis, but that's just about the limit I'll pay for anything atm and these mounts are gonna cost way more than that.
