Jun 1st 2011 2:04PM too bad no one raids as BM. it'd be nice to get unique pets on my hunter and still do respectable raid damage, but noooo... i have to take a sub-par spec in order to tame/use them.
sticking with my wolf and non-exotic cat, as always. thanks for putting effort into something not worthwhile, blizz.
May 10th 2011 11:37AM ^^ new character models for the unfortunate vanilla races. i want to play em and experience the lore, but they're too damn ugly to stare at for long.
May 10th 2011 11:26AM the current end-game content is tuned too high. that much is obvious by the decline in subs and the comments here. i co-lead a raid group that is 9/12 due to attendance issues, and we're fairly happy with the raid content even if we're progressing slower than we'd like to.
what are my endgame choices now? i have several other 80s that i don't want to grind through to 85 because it's the exact same content i've already done twice. should i manage to suck it up and get one to 85, what are his choices for gearing up and raiding? running cata release heroics and grinding ad nauseum to get to the magic number of 346? when he gets there, does he attempt the new 4.1 heroics that are tuned so high as to NOT be puggable. and yes, they are NOT unless you get very, very lucky with your groupmates.
cata release heroics have gotten a little better because of gear and six months familiarity with the fights. the new heroics are just an exercise in futility, unless you run with a guild/raid group. i wanted to run one ZA/ZG last night when i logged in at 1am. i figured i had a good 60-90 minutes of being awake. 3 hours later i went to bed with Jindo still up and a really horrible taste in my mouth for wow.
ffs, i RAID for three hours at a time. when i want to do a heroic with notably less rewards, it shouldn't be taking me three hours no matter what stupidity the RDF throws at me.
i love a challenge. but heroic modes are for the hardcore raiders. 5 man content needs to be accessible, and blizz has failed miserably on that account here.
Oct 5th 2010 8:23AM this is a very odd, incredibly late and unfortunate announcement for those guilds that have over 600 members.
little bit of notice might've been nice, eh blizz? especially as i haven't pre-ordered cata yet.
just sayin'. and this isn't going to break anyone, it's just going to be a pain in the ass to work around, but we'll find a way.
AIE will be just fine :)
Aug 7th 2010 5:39PM things like this are why Blizzard gets my 15 bucks per month over any other company.
they get it. and it's sometimes hilarious :D
May 19th 2010 2:46PM and the kicker, grovin, is that so many players didn't see it coming and believed in their most secret heart of hearts that blizzard would never, EVER betray them... and now it has happened.
whereas more intelligent posters didn't spend their extra money on in-game extras, and cautioned others about buying them... and were ridiculed.
tell me... how much did your sparklepony cost you now? how much will it have cost you when you have to go get your wallet in order raid deathwing's lair?
May 19th 2010 1:42PM this is breaking the third wall, making the game less immersive for all players. your subscription fee (if you want to be competitive on the AH) just went up to $17.98. not to mention the uses gold farmers will find for this app.
i am shocked that they went this far, but at least they did it before i spent $40 on Cataclysm. Now i can go buy a game from a developer that doesn't shill its customers.
and for all of you that decried the "slippery slope" logic - tell me again how Blizz will never, ever offer an advantage in-game for RL cash... i'm listening...
oh wait, you can't say that anymore, and neither can blizzard.
May 19th 2010 1:13PM this is probably the end of the line for me, although i'm not going to cancel until i actually see it in action.
if you pay more money than the average WoW player, you can monopolize the AH without even being at your computer?
yeah, unless they put some serious restrictions on remote access - they just killed the game.
i have posted many, many times urging players NOT to spend their money on micro/macro-transactions, and very few people listened. enjoy your new p2p MMO.
May 6th 2010 6:29AM i'm a kingslayer ret pally - wtf kind of ranged atks do you think we have? exo? without a AoW proc, a rogue could kill us before it casts. judge has about a 4 inch range on my 37" monitor. no.
pallys are a great class, but wow has spent enough time balancing that we're not op. so shut it :)
