The Light and How to Swing It: Nerfing Holy Radiance to the ground {WoW}

Jan 29th 2012 2:21PM "Holy paladins need a spammable AoE heal to compete with the other healers, but it doesn't need to heal everyone at once."

That would be true if every other healer had a spammable AOE heal, but druids don't. We got hit quite hard by the WG nerfs and now our inability to burst AOE heal has made us a much less attractive choice for many fights. It's almost impossible (in my experience, anyway) to 2-heal heroic Morchok with a resto druid due to our near inability to heal the group up fast enough in between large chunks of damage.

Holy Radiance is borderline overpowered and this nerf does little to help with that. When one spell constitutes upwards of 80% of a class's healing done (between HR, Beacon heals from HR heals, and Illuminated Healing shields from HR, 80% isn't unrealistic), something is wrong. Part of it is the result of the "stack and AOE heal like crazy" mechanics that Dragon Soul is full of, but even on fights like Blackhorn, Holy Radiance is still topping the charts.

The Queue: Do it live {WoW}

Jan 23rd 2012 11:02AM You may be able to get some of this information (at least circumstantially) via Wowprogress. Try entering:

http://www.wowprogress.com/character/us/blackrock/Rushift

Except replace your region/realm/Charactername as appropriate. Down at the bottom will be a bit of history.

You can also go to http://www.wowcensus.com/charhistory.php and enter your information there (you'll have to search for any previous names/servers/etc. separately). It has most of my main character's history there.

Jan 12th 2012 3:33PM Enhancement actually has no procs other than Maelstrom Weapon, which could be easily handled through Power Auras that play a sound. In fact, his entire rotation could be turned into audible Power Auras. Every ability that comes off cooldown could play a sound, or even play sounds as they tick down. Power Auras is so incredibly robust that creating enough audible notifications to play almost any class passably (aside from healers, I suppose) wouldn't be terribly hard.

Dec 29th 2011 4:41PM The best part is that during PTR, there was a period where Ultraxion was changed to be shreddable/backstabbable. They removed his parry capability to make sure melee were on even footing... and then screwed a few melee over when it went live by returning his facing to normal.

Thanks, Blizz. Showing ferals you care one patch at a time...
