Mar 30th 2012 8:45AM I had been playing other MMOs for years before WoW. Never heard of "toon". It was char mainly. Only when I started playing WoW did I hear the word "toon". Granted I didn't play the popular ones like everquest.
Mar 6th 2012 4:13PM Not happy with a free D3 and a mount for loyal subs?
Sorry but I took the annual pass to be just that.
Mar 6th 2012 11:39AM "the return of the Recruit-A-Friend bonus"
I thought the RAF didn't have any changes but the scroll of restruction was temporarily suspended?
Mar 5th 2012 4:49PM I believe it is ten yards max.
For practice I would suggest before clearing the trash; line up the raid and assign positions. We had people /range 10 and look at the ground for a distinguishing marker to quickly find that spot again during the fight.
It can be rough to get 25 people to line up during the fight and figured out the range. It was funny the first couple of times watching all the lines shift around but it made the phase last way too long.
Assigned positions ensured the shortest lightning phase possible.
Also after trash is cleared you can't do practice line ups.
Mar 5th 2012 12:18PM I am really not that upset actually. Maybe I am in the minority, but it was nice having an active list of what ones I turned in or not.
I used it as a shopping list to know which ones to buy nearing the end of the faire. (Never bought the treatise too expensive).
I just completed the achievments this month. Next month I am going to have to write down which ones I turned in.
Feb 16th 2012 12:07PM The driving force was balance.
Druid tanks were watered down in comparison to other tanks due to cats having easy access to all the abilities. Bear couldn't be given a lot cause cats would be able to use it in pvp.
The four piece bonus just goes to show how hard it was too keep the two roles seperate. The reason this wasn't a problem in wrath was cause tank needed to stack stam but in cata agi is the best for both tanking and dpsing.
The other issue was the popularity of hybrid tanking. Druids make ideal OTs being able to pump out crazy dps by going cat when not tanking. Cause ten man rules the raiding scene now, DPS checks and heroics are easier by having the tank shift to dps.
Druids were making their complaints on the forums about feeling forced to go hybrid. Tankss didn't want to learn to dps and cats not wanting to go bear but a lot of pressure was coming from RL wanting the advantage. Other tanks didn't like the preference for druid hybrids cause they couldn't switch to dps so smoothly.
Getting rid of cat or bear is not a good idea either. Basically this was the only clear solution.
I am really hoping for more range controls for bears. Range control has been a big weakness for bear in comparison to other tanks (aoe stuns, grips, or silences). Bear won't be watered down when it is released of being adjusted in view of what cats could do too.
Feb 15th 2012 12:53PM openraid.us
I tried LFraid.com and it was a good idea unfortunately the site needs more work. Many features aren't available yet. I could edit my raid group post (when the time changed). I couldn't search through what raids were alliance or horde etc. When I sent messages out no one respond to them (probably due to the lack of players returning once their post is up).
Openraid.us has reputations, quick raid queues, chat features, raid searchs and signups.
I see groups forming and going but there needs to be more foot traffice. The site is very popular in europe but I don't see as many US raids forming.
Feb 6th 2012 8:21AM why not the other way around?
Removing int plate would be complex but how about opening shamans up to plate armor. Keep the all mail specialization but a shaman could decide whether or not to break the 5% bonus in order to take a plate upgrade.
Don't open up current teir plate to shamans (via class restriction) so shamans don't end up looking like palys.
Shamans would be encouraged to wear mail but it would open up possibilities for int plate instead of the current restriction.
Jan 22nd 2012 10:16AM I did the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby as often as I could. I came close to winning in Wrath but someone was just turning it in as I was.
In Cata after a year of Derbies, I finally won. It takes luck unfortunately... however the heirloom ring remains "my most commented on/asked about item". When questing, doing a BG or dungeon, so many have asked, "Where did you get that?!"
