Apr 10th 2011 1:08AM Currently working on the 10M hardmodes at the moment and finding fire a little frustrating at times. The general damage is usually ok but as people have stated some times it's bad.. so bad:(
Combustion makes me want to tear my hair out. I was doing heroic maloriak last week with my guild, we've been working on it for a few nights now. I always try to use my combustion on the black phase adds, first trying to get and spread combustion via the boss, if that doesnt happen, i am trying to do the same off one of the vile swills as we need as much damage as possible on the with the limited time before the next phase starts.
There was multiple times where this just would not line up for me. It's so important to make sure i get it off on those adds i've started settling for just decent ignite +LB combustions but half of the time this just won't line up either.
The point is that in most fights there is a phase where you need to be using pots, timewarp basically anything and everything you have to do as much damage as possible and for a fire mage you can be totally useless as the planets refuse to align no matter how hard you try and it makes me feel like im the bad player when im getting asked why im not doing as much dmg as everyone else on that certain phase when sometimes its out of my control and well, it shouldn't be.
The 4.1 changes will help slightly with the combustion off the GCD and LB not causing terrible ignites, even though thats a slight dps loss.
Is there some limitation server or client side that would stop them from making it so that a bigger ignite cannot be overwritten by a smaller ignite? I get that we are balanced around ignite munching but if this did work we could have adjustments made to our spells to compensate. Theres probably a really obvious reason as to why this would not work, but i cant think of it so could someone enlighten me?
Sorry for the long post but my mage has been my main since day 1 of me playing for 5 years now and can honestly say for the first time i would consider changing class to become a more consistant dps'er.
Oct 24th 2010 3:46AM They should of hung onto the Cataclysm cinematic for an extra week or so to show. There's a few complaining that it was boring and getting to see that before the mainstream would have been cool for them:)
Dec 17th 2009 12:00PM "Lord Marrowgar is now tauntable"
Are people really having so much problem with this boss?
Dec 15th 2009 9:35PM Is there any other way of seeing the traps in the first part of the icc trash before Marrowgar apart from having a rogue with you?
We are a small 10 man guild, we dont run with any rogues atm and they always seem to come at the worst possible time. Tried a warlock invisibility but didn't work as we guessed they wouldent:(
Been reading a lot about the "Bring the player, Not the class" direction they are taking and it seems good until now.
May 18th 2009 10:11AM I do like the vehicle combat that has been implemented, but found it to be a bit buggy:(
This week alone we have had 2 vehicles during flame leviathan fight just fall through the floor to death and its made doing Malygos impossible for us as it either just kicks us all of the drakes and we die or kicks us off to land on a drake 5 secs later but with maly non-targetable:(
Spoke to a gm and they know there are problems with both encounters and are working on fixing them.
As i said, do like the vehicle combat but if a encounter is dependant on using them but they bug like that it kinda takes some of the fun away when wiping due to no fault of our own.
